The jar also generates more friction, heating soups and hot drinks quickly and easily. It’s also especially good for grinding grains and making smaller quantities.

I’ve had my blendtec blender base since 2021!!! I probably should have replaced the blender jar a few years sooner, just due to discoloration but the jar still performed perfect. I finally replaced it due to the underside of the jar rusting where the blade sits. I’ve used my blender 981 times!! I love the counter feat, it’s so fun to see how long it’s held up! I 1000% recommend getting one of these. It may be the last blender you ever need!

I just bought a new jar — the old one was leaking after 6-7 years (thanks for the great product!). It’s very lucky that my old lid is as good as new (thanks for the great product!), because it’s so easy to scrape the smoothie goodness off it with a scraper, unlike from the newly-designed lid. The latter has narrow and curved rut, which requires a small, narrow object to do the job. I don’t have such an object; a tea spoon doesn’t do a good enough job. I tried the new lid a couple times but eventually shelved it in frustration. I wonder if other folks give similar feedback and if BT would consider going back to the old design in future iterations.

I’ve used Blendtec blenders for the past 10 years or so, and while I always liked the fourside jar, I was unhappy with both the container material and the bearings of the blade. This new container fixes both problems. The material is a clear and doesn’t seem as vulnerable to etching as the original containers. The blade assembly and bearings are amazing — quiet, sturdy, and apparently so well designed the jar comes with a 3-year warranty, or longer if you’re buying it as part of a blender purchase. This is the last thing that might have kept me from recommending the Blendtec blender to everyone. I’m completely satisfied with the way it works and looks.

I bought this second jar replacement. The first replacement I had purchased was a for gasket issue. It had just worn out, which they do. At that time I could see little gray bits when grinding sugar to powdered sugar and called Blendtec. So it was time to replace. This current replacement jar was due to making soup with super ‘hot off the stove’ vegetables and broth. Liquid started to leak and thankfully didn’t damage the base. Although I did melt the gasket. Sooo… this time I know to be more careful and save my receipt for the longer 3 year warranty. Yes, it is worth it as I love the features of the base I already have.

I have a couple of jars that wore out, meaning the bearings were going bad. You can’t replace the bearings on these. I bought this a few weeks ago and it’s louder and noisier than previous jars when they were new. I was concerned it was putting too much stress on the base/motor. I called and they listened over the phone and said it would take about 100 blends to get quieter. It’s still too noisy and if it ruins the motor I’ll be mad. IMO if the newer jars have bearings that are too tight, then they should spin them 100 times at the factory so MY blender doesn’t have to wear itself out during this “break in” period.

I bought my Blendtec blender many years ago from a roommate leaving to move overseas and for the last few months, it had been making a HORRIBLY loud sound. I was afraid the base motor may have finally kicked the bucket after multiple years of daily smoothies. Not wanting to spend $$$$ on a new blender or add mine to the e-waste trash pile, I bought this new jar. Lo and behold, it turns out the blades on the old jar were the culprit of the loud noise! Now my blender runs much quieter and the new sharp blades quickly blend ice and more. The updated shape also does a better job at getting all the ingredients so I don’t have to use a spatula constantly to mix up dryer recipes.

The rubber gasket at the bottom of the original jar began to disintegrate. I was disappointed, as I followed care directions and made sure to always keep that part of the jar dry. But all things wear out, so we decided to replace it. I am happy with the new jar so far, but I have to say the price shocked me. We almost didn’t purchase it, but really like our Blendtec so wanted to keep using it. I can’t say, however, that I’ll purchase another jar if/when this one wears out. The new jar is nice, but I am giving three stars due to price and the fact that the old one wore out sooner than I thought it should.

We needed a replacement jar for our 15 year old one which had lost the seal at the bottom.
The new one works great. Like having a new blender!
The reason I gave 4 stars is because the text for the measurement on the jar are barely visible so it’s difficult to see how much liquid your adding.
Needs to be bigger and bolder! I’m going to have to make stickers to show marking numbers.

It chops quickly and makes great soup!! I make smoothies every morning when I wake up, it does the job less than 3 minutes and no spills because the lid suction.

Thanks Blendtec for an awesome blender that does so much.

I love this blender, but am put off by the poor life of the container given that after about 300 cycles the blade does not spin freely. I clean and maintain it regularly, so I feel cheated. I clean it even better than the manual suggests so this shouldn’t be happening. I am the only user, so there is no way somebody could be tampering with it or abusing it without my knowledge. It would be great if this blender had a kit to change the gasket at the bottom. THIS WOULD SET THIS PROBLEM TO REST AND LOCK IT IN AS A ’10’. I don’t think the competition does this. Nudge! Nudge!

I bought my blendtec blender and two FourSide Jars when they were at Costco. I really like the blender and feel it is powerful. However, the gasket on the blender Jar has a short life. I was under 400 blends and the black gasket around the blade shredded in my first Jar. The little plastic shreds ended up in the smoothie making it inedible.
I am looking to get the Jar exchanged. However, I do hope that Blendtec improves the technology they use for the gasket holding the blade. It’s frustrating to pay so much for a “high” quality blender and have the Jar go out on you.

  12. Shaun

The blendtec works great when it is new, the motor is super powerful but the jar is trash. Not functionally but with regards to how it holds up. The seals and bearings fail after light use and cannot be serviced. I wouldn’t have purchased a blendtec had I knew this, the vitamix is servicible. Basically the jar is good for 50-100 uses and then it stops working correctly, leaks and then catastrophically fails. Not good for an expensive product. The design could relatively easily be changed to use a gasket and ring so the blades could be repaired or replaced.

  13. Seidy

After an accident with the main jar that came with the blender, I had to repurchase this jar to replace it. I grounded coffee beans and the plastic on the jar got all foggy and looks dirty no matter how much I wash this thing, I’ve tried everything and it won’t just clear up. It’s also getting worse. I wonder if its the quality of the jar because the first jar never did that, or on the previous machine that I owned back home. Also, something is going on with the lid, it won’t fit properly to cover my jar and it gives a fight to get in there.

I’ve been using these for over 10 years and blend about 4 times a week on average. The contents range from yogurt and fruit smoothies to heavier items like meat and vegetables. We only fill the jars to about 24 – 30 ounces and get absolutely perfect results every time with only a single blending cycle (50 seconds). However, they only last about 1-1/2 years before the seal fails and the blade doesn’t turn easily. Always slightly past the 1 year warranty, of course! But as long as the blender keeps working I guess we’ll keep buying the jars.

  15. Trevor23

I bought this jar a year ago and I have been very unhappy with it. It does not blend smooth, does not stay sealed (yes it broke open and exploded all over) and leaves chunks. I have tried all of Blendtec’s ideas of how to make this work better but it does not fix the problem. Don’t waste your time! Ive even had this exact jar replaced once because the first just fell apart in the bearing. Get the wild side (wish I could but it is not economical to buy another jar). Not happy with it!

  16. Strotzo

I’ve had this product for over 10 years and I just recently had to replace the cup because I couldn’t take the blade and the cup a part. The blade even after this many years chopped like it did the first day I got it. I’m sure I can take it somewhere and have them take the blade out and replace the rubber seal on the bottom. But rather than trying to find a place to get the cup fixed I just got a new one, because I know that it will last me at least another 10 years if not more.

I got my Blendtec as a Father’s Day gift over three years ago and we love it. We did have to recently replace the Fourside Jar because we use it everyday. My wife & I start each day with a custom smoothie full of Kale, frozen blueberries and other trendy “good for you” stuff. It’s filling and I feel I started my day right, which inspires me to “behave” the rest of the day. Sometimes we take frozen bananas, a little almond milk or dare I say half-n-half, and wow, what a treat.

I replaced a jar from 7 years ago which was working great, actually too great. I blended up a Glass magnet that fell off my fridge by accident as I was getting ice, unknown of course, and it ground up so fine it ground glass into the sides of the blender so I needed a new one. I use it almost everyday and could hardly wait to get the new one. Love my Blendtec!!! Originally purchased for a business but it closed and I got a great blender to use everyday at home.

  19. mingotronic

I bought the four side jar for my mixer because it was shipped with the larger wild side jar. I use it primarily for smoothies and didn’t need that much volume. With my four side jar I now make my smoothies perfectly every time. I have now even begun to use both jars simultaneously for large prep. It’s great. I use the big jar to break down and juice a watermelon and then the small jar is ready for the juice I made to make the base for a smoothie

I had to get a replacement blender jar as the old one started to leak after 600 uses. When i got the new jar, i noticed the lid is not completely closed and it comes apart in two pieces. This is harder to clean this way. The jar handle also is not solid its hollow so stuff can get stuck on inside of it. Im noticing the blades just are not fully blending frozen bananas in smoothies n i have to pulse it a few times after the cycle is done.
