This compressor is awesome when it comes to small projects. I’ve used it to make a wooden ice chest, a wooden box for my son. and a wallet/change/phone box for my older son as well as two night stands for our bedroom. the compressor went without a hitch. I hope it will continue to produce many more projects.

Purchased from and get home open the box and there is only a piece of cardboard inside. Figured there would be styrofoam. The plastic on the compressor is damaged in multiple places. My husband plugged it in and the hose from the compressor to the tank got hot and the compressor started smelling burnt. Definitely returning this and will not be purchasing another Craftsman.

Chose the Craftsman 6 gal., 150 psi compressor to replace a small, inefficient 3 gal one i have been using for several years. This compressor comes without hose or attachments, so bear that in mind. This is pretty much a standard air compressor. Features include a 5 foot power cord, a nice 3 way handle that makes it easy to pick up, an area to wrap the cord up, tank pressure gauge, regulator pressure gauge, adjustable regulator valve and 2 quick connects so you can connect 2 tools, etc. at the same time. I found this compressor to be relatively quite compared to my old one and the tank filled up from empty to 150 psi in a timed 2 min and 39 sec which i found to be impressive. With the 6 gal. tank it is big enough to top off all 4 tires on a normal passenger vehicle with ease. While i have yet to use it with any power tools, i feel comfortable that it will perform well with all but the biggest tools. Overall, I feel this compressor would be an excellent choice for someone who is looking for a medium duty air compressor that is portable but powerful enough to tackle most DIY type situations. The quality is what you would expect from Craftsman products.

Best thing I ever bought! An excellent 6-Gallon Single Stage Portable Electric Pancake Air Compressor. Electric, can store up to 150 psi. EZ to carry (~30 lbs), Made in USA, provides two air outlets, adjustable air pressure. Bought it so I could use a brad nailer gun to install quarter round molding for a laminate floor.
The very day I bought it at , my neighbor happened to come by asking if I had an air pump, because his daughter’s car tire was low. I filled the compressor air tank, put it in my car and drove over to their house. Took all of 20 seconds to pump up her tire, and I was a hero!
How I ever got through life without air tools is beyond me…

Obviously, using the Craftsman 6-Gallon Portable Electric Pancake Air Compressor is much like using other air compressor, so I will try to speak to the subtle differences from other compressors I’ve used in the past. However, before that, I will say that it works perfectly in all the expect ways: keeps itself charged with air pressure; produces PSI necessary for nailing, pumping tires, blowing off small particles of dust etc.; and so forth. Years ago, when I was in college, I worked at Sears, so I’ve had much experience with Craftsman products; at the time, in my opinion, nothing short of commercial tools had the reputation for quality of Craftsman. Many noncommercial brands have caught up, and many people don’t buy tools for life like our parents and grandparents did; however, while it may be new to see Craftsman products in , this air compressor seems to live up to the Craftsman brand quality I remember from the days of their lifetime guarantees on hand tools. It is very sturdy with rubber feet on the bottom to keep it in-place, but it is still easy to move around when you want to at only 30 lbs. Actually, for that reason, I gave away my older, much bigger Italy-style air compressor, complete with a much larger tank, a belt, and a handle and wheels to pull it around. I found myself using the old one less and less because I had no need for something so big and hated loading it up when I was not working at home; it didn’t work with a remodel job that I did at my house, and I was tired of how bulky it was. The pancake-style of the Craftsman compressor was something to which I wanted to make the switch for a while, and I can honestly say that it is MUCH better for my uses, which are all at my home or the home of a friend or family member. I really like the capability of having two hoses connected at the same time, and I believe anyone who has ever used a compressor on a remodel job knows the annoyance of having to disconnect and reconnect tools back and forth repeatedly; this capability takes that annoyance away… BIG FAN! When I was setting up all my new attachments (purchased separately at ), against the wife’s wishes, I had the compressor and everything set up on the kitchen counter. It left some black tracks from the rubber feet on the counter, which washed right off with soapy water, but just so you get started off on the right foot, maybe don’t set it on your kitchen counter (or just listen to your wife in general). Overall, this was something that I should have purchased a while ago. This is a very good air compressor that I certainly recommend.

Great little Air Compressor for home use. This compressor is Oil Free. I have 2 small shops at home that I do a lot of woodworking in. I have plumbed my air system to each shop and this little Air Compressor does a great job for all my air tools. This Air Compressor replaces a DeWALT Model D55166 6-Gallon Heavy-Duty Wheeled Portable Compressor that is Oil Lubed. The DeWALT works OK when the weather is warm, but when its cold out side it will not run until you warm it up. Keeps tripping the circuit breaker until it warms up. The oil is just to thick in the cold. You will love this Craftsman Air Compressor.

Rubber hose clamps leak after 10 hours of use. Easy to repair with new screw hose clamps.

Bought this unit to supplement my current compressor since it is half the weight. Old unit was getting heavier each time I lugged it up and down the stairs. Now the old unit will live in the shop and the new unit will go on “away” jobs. New unit runs well, but it is a little loud, else I would give it 5 stars.

I have a 30 gal compressor in my workshop for wood working, but I needed to travel to another state to do some work on an old outbuilding. There was supposed to be a compressor on site; however, the drain valve was frozen in the open position so I could use it. I ran to a local and picked up this little compressor to use a framing nail gun. It worked great and I finished the job quickly. It was certainly plenty of capacity for a single nail gun and I will use it in my garage to run some air powered tools to work on my vehicles or if I need to do work away from the house.

This air compressor was purchased to keep my Roadster’s tires inflated during the winter. When I got it, it did not have any hoses or connection equipment, which meant I had to go out and purchase those for an additonal $30. However, once I got everything set up and running, my Roadster now has air in all tires and in doing so, I discovered a number of other things this thing can do as a blower and a couple of other things I don’t remember right now. In the beginning, I was not satisfied with the unit…but after spending $30 on the hoses, etc., I like it and I would recommend it. Just know that you will have to buy your hoses and attachments.

Bought this to replace a larger compressor. Great price for a 6 gallon tank unit. Runs very quietly, which is nice since it is in the basement workshop. Big enough to handle any job yet light enough to carry outside to fill the car tires when needed.

This was purchased from Lowe’s at a reasonable price. The instruction manual is really light on content with very small print and too many warnings. Plus, the manual appears not to be available on the Craftsman website (in any language). The box should have a notation that there are no attachments enclose in large enough letters that it stands out at first glance. The regulator doesn’t seem to work properly. The unit is noisy and it sounds like something is grinding on the inside. The limited 1 year warranty is another limitation of this unit. Most Craftsman products have at least a 3 year warranty and in some cases lifetime.

Wooks well for occasional use on home and farm. Have used to inflate 19″ and 28″ tractor tires. Light enough to be easily portable when needed. With two outlets I have a short feeder hose to my stationary reel and a second short hose to use when carried to the tractor shed or barn. Enough capacity to fill my portable tanks to 120 psi. It replaced a Craftsman oiled air compressor that was still working after 45+ years and only failed because the tank had rusted. This was cheeper than replacing the tank, and if it lasts half that time will probably be my last compressor!

Almost identical to my old Porter Cable 6 gal. Same Price, same 2.5CFM, Same 150# pressure, and same noise level, same walking around the garage when operating. I’ll bet they’re made in the same factory (though I don’t know for certain). Overall, it’s a good little compressor for light duty tire and up to 3 inch nails in my nail gun. But, if you’re a construction pro, you know it won’t handle your speed and air tools. Just adequate for a DIY’er like me. Hopefully it’ll last for 5 years like my Porter Cable did.
