Got the drill/driver/impact combo when my Dewalt smoked. The impact is powerful, way more power than my Makita. Infact it almost has t0o much power. First time I used it had to pull out the quality bits as I burnt up two lower quality bits. I would rather burn up the bits instead of the screws but I need to be more careful with this tool. However now that I’ve used over the last month or so, getting use to it. Would definitely recommend. Nice to red back in my tool selection.

Hi there again after getting the CMCF820D2 buy the way my favorite IMPACT Driver all time. Now the CMCF810C1 Impact Driver light weight little less power otherwise Another great Craftsman 20V IMPACT DRIVER I only have one issue with it no Belt Hook With it but the CMCF810C1 KIT you do get one Battery Pack CMCB2011 1.5AH
    1 CMCB100 BATTERY CHARGER
    And a Storage Bag.
But NO BELT HOOK that should always come with the tool no matter what.

I have already invested in an extensive collection of Ryobi 18v tools, but decided to try Craftsman because I wanted to upgrade to brushless cordless tools. A holiday sale at my local Lowe’s made the price point competitive with standard cordless tools. I’m a weekend DIYer, and this tool meets my needs with plenty of power to spare. I also appreciate features like a large pistol grip that allows a better grip when wearing gloves and an LED light above the pistol grip. The only issue I’ve experienced is difficulty operating the sliding forward-stop-reverse switch while wearing gloves because the switch is so small. Overall, I’m satisfied with my purchase and Craftsman quality.

despite reading and viewing reviews that state craftsman is only good for “light duty” jobs… all can say is kiss off… ive put every craftsman tool that i have owned through some very rough jobs over the years, and they have been holding up better than ANY other major competitor… and the new line of 20V Craftsman tools are no exception (minus the measuring tapes and wire strippers – improvements can be made) …. but the 20V Craftsman Brushless Impact has been a VERY GOOD pick up!!! been using it on a daily basis working on an addition to my girlfriends home, and its holding up better than her Makita!!! when that project is done, im taking it to work, to replace my Craftsman 20V Impact, ONLY because it lighter…but holds up JUST AS GOOD!!!

I was looking for a new impact driver. I almost went with Ryobi, but their tools are too bulky. I was looking for a nice balance between performance, size and durability. The Ryobi had some nice power, but components inside the tool would rattle, or feel lose when I would pick it up, turn it around, etc. And, like I mentioned before, they were just too bulky.

I came across Craftsman and heard some negative reviews of their tools, but realized a lot of these reviews were fairly old. As I dived in deeper I saw that they recently stepped up their branding and quality of their new lineup. The reviews flipped from negative to a more positive tone — that perked my interest. I saw some tool tear downs online of this impact driver and other Craftsman tools, and came to find out that they pay attention to every detail and use quality parts on the inside of their tools as much as they do for their tools exteriors. When I visited Lowe’s and saw the impact driver, it wasn’t huge, and it wasnt small. It was just right. Great weight distribution, and felt very sturdy, as sturdy as the reviews descibed it to be. It gave me the confidence that I could accidentally drop it and not have to worry if anything was rattled lose within it, or if its performance would degrade.

I purchased it and brought it home to conduct some tests. This thing had some kick! But, not an overwhelming amount. I don’t work in contruction, or am I a wood worker. I’m just a husband that has to show up for any task when it’s in demand around the house. I will say, it gets the job done, and gave me the confidence that it will perform under greater demand if needed.

I’m an electrician and I’ve used this impact driver for about a month on various residential and commercial jobs. It’s very comfortable and durable, it has held up to multiple drops from off the ladder. I would definitely recommend! The only downside is that it does not come with a clip to hang it on a belt.

  7. Cameron

only owned this impact for a month or so but the thing’s fantastic. im building a barn right now and i use it to send in hundreds of 3” wood screws every day. the thing’s strong too. it’ll easily send a 6inch lag screw into a post. great tool to have, and with a 3 year warranty… you cant beat it.

  8. Lar

Cordless impact driver, I used it to put in 4 inch deck screws in the deck porch and it worked great.

  9. Lilly

Love this! This is the only thing by this brand I will own. They fail on other things but this is worth every penny.

  10. Fred

Battery that it comes with dies in 10 mins. Would be nice if it came with a bigger battery.I know I can buy a bigger one but I just bought the impact so than I need to spend another 100+ On a battery. Kind of annoying. Other than that the impact works great.

  11. ferrumsoccer

I have battery tools in several tool lines. For the price point, this was a great investment. The battery alone was a deal.

  12. Mike

I have used this thing over the weekend hard and it is just an amazing drill. Love it and the price.

  13. Baker

Very powerful and perfect for the homeowner. Not commercial quality but is perfect for the homeowner

  14. Cameron

I originally planned to buy a “consumer grade” cordless screwdriver, but after looking at a few I realized they’d never hold up. The Craftsman costs more, but it’s powerful and has a nice ergonomic feel to it. It may be overkill for my needs, but I’d prefer to work with something that’s dependable and will last for many years. After putting up some shelves (about 18 screws), I realized it was the right decision – saved me time, and saved that horrible cramped feeling you get from manually putting screws into a wall.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a handyman for 8 years. From plumbing to HVAC to mechanics, I do it all. I purchased this product initially for its price point in a 20v category. I had been using 18v Dewalt power tools. When I got these it was because of the legendary craftsman name, but I was skeptical that this new generation of tools would live up to the proud heritage of tools my father loved. It has not disappointed what so ever. I have put this little impact driver through HECK! Dropped it on asphalt 3 stories up, got it wet in oil/water/ and all manner of fluids, broke HUNDREDS of bits… it doesn’t quit. I’ve been abusing it for almost a year now, and it has not slowed down. It has built many decks, fixed cars and trucks, drilled through every material you can imagine and never left me wanting. I hope to see more in this line soon!

  16. Garrett G

I have had this little thing for abiut eight months now, and I use it more than any other power tool I have owned in the past 15 years! It can do anything that there is space for it to work. Obviously being a 1/4″ torque is limited, but the speed and convenience of use is stupendous, and your odds of snapping something are diminished. Just use your torque wrench, ratchet, or regular wrench to finish it off. You will not regret this purchase.

  17. HudTheBoss

This thing has a surprising amount of power. I thought I would have issues with the chuck stripping out since it’s not your average 3/8 socket connector, but this thing rocks. I recently had to drill 3 inch lag screws into a pressure treated beam and it had no trouble. I’ve dropped it from 10 feet, left it in the rain, and gave it tons of general abuse, but it still remains in perfect working order.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tool about 6 months ago and I use it constantly. I sue it both as a screw gun and as an impact. This gun runs forever on the 2.0AH battery. I’m currently rebuilding a small block Ford engine and I used this tool on everything but the head bolts and crank main bolts. A small tool that packs all the power you need. Everyone should own this tool!

Awesome New drill or at least new to me, This Craftsman drill is much more powerful then my old ryobe 9.6 volt drill.
and it has a nice LED light to help better see the target that my old drill did not have.
this even comes with a carry bag Not to mention the 20 Volt Lithium ion battery’s last a lot longer then the 9.6 volt battery’s did.
I do not like that it does not have a magnetic bit holder over the battery as that did come in handy.

How ever the whole reason I switched brands to craftsman when getting a new drill is ryobe stopped making the battery’s for my old drill, so now the only use I have for it is to throw it in the trash as no one makes generic battery’s for it either.

So after looking at a lot of consumer reviews I decided to get this drill as so many people who buy it like it and say it works great.
I wanted a set with 2 battery’s again and not have to worry that I wont be able to get replacement battery’s.

    Great drill!

This tool is just one of many Craftsman brand tools i own that I plan to pass down to my children because I know they are THAT reliable. Keep up the good work guys and know thar you have a very loyal customer here.

I’m surprised with the performance of this driver. It is amazing and works effort less. My driller quit on me and I picked up this to place fairly large screws for tire rack into stude and I am very satisfied with the outcome. Good product and fair price!
