[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this impact for just over 2 years. I’ve remodeled 2 bathrooms completely including all drywall, finished my basement completely, formed (wood) over 55 yards of concrete including an elevated porch, and tons of other miscellaneous projects around my house. This impact has far about and exceeded my expectations and if I was forced to buy another I would not hesitate to buy this one again. Price is great compared to other brands and quality is matched, if not better, than others. Great buy.

At first I didn’t think I could use an Impact driver and then I saw this on sale and now realize that having one of these is great for those tough to tighten/loosen screws, nuts, and bolts. The impact of the driver is so much more powerful than just the regular drill it will literally drive a wood screw through whatever it’s holding if you’re not careful.
I’ve used it on numerous things where the drill was not generating enough force/torque to drive in what I needed. This powered through those tough tightens with ease and the torque mechanism prevents stripping of phillips head screws (provided you have the right size head/bit on the driver).

Bought this a few weeks ago and used it maybe twice. Put it in the storage bag for a week and went to use if yesterday and both batteries were dead and wouldn’t charge at all. The light on the charger wouldn’t even come on. Returned the first one today. Got home with the second one and tested the batteries. One battery works, the other doesn’t. When I put it on the charger nothing happens. The charging light doesn’t even come on. Returning it tomorrow and going with a different brand.

I figured the name Craftsmen meant high quality. I guess I was wrong. Would give it zero stars but it the review requires at least one.

I picked a bad apple when I bought the Craftsmen V20 20-VoltMax variable speed cordless impact driver. When I got it home and plug in the charger, put in the first battery the indicator light,a blinking green.Blinking green means charging it stop blinking and remain green this means it’s fully charged. I put in the second battery, nothing. No blinking no light at all.I put the first battery in the driver and ran for a few minutes to check it out. Then I put it in the charger,no light.I put it back in the driver and it didn’t run,so now none of batteries work or charge. So I returned the product back to .

First time using set on philips self taping screw the bit head snapped in half.

I used these on tough nails and man it just takes it out easy like it should. Love the color and carrying box.

To be impact rated the bits have to be very strong. I’m not normally using these in an impact driver, I mostly use them in my drill. These have the regular 1/4” hex fitting. I like that it has most of types of bits that I use in one set. The case seems sturdy and an appropriate size.

The one and only negative to me is that removing the bits you pull and tip them each out one at a time with a fair amount of force. Some holders have sections that tip forward and then the bits come out easily – this is not like that.

One final thing, I am really glad my local Lowe’s carries the Craftsman line of tools!

Bought 1st one in Oct . Completed project flawlessly. Used a few times over the winter keeping batteries on charger. Needed to use on Monday March 11 both batteries dead charger will not even turn green light on. replaced no hassle. Sunday March 17 same issue with replacement tool. Again Lowe’s replaced tool. We will see what this one does, Ive always been happy with craftsman tools I don’t know that I will continue to buy them.

As a home hobbyist and light repair guy, I’ve held off on getting an impact driver for years. I finally decided to go with this model for a few good reasons:
    > I’ve always been happy with Craftsman tools because they are a perfect blend of cost, reliability, and function
    > It’s American made
    > 20 volts, and it comes with 2 batteries
    > Best of all, it’s a brushless motor!

My use hasn’t been heavy yet, but I have plenty of deck, house, and projects to build and am really looking forward to using the driver for them all. Plus, it’s great to have for mechanic work when the nuts and bolts refuse to let loose.

did a large deck job a few years ago. bought 2-3 of these and put them through hard use that week. we still have those and they run good.

picked up 2 more within the year and they both have problems being consistent in lower speed. when pulling the trigger for power speed work they act as if the battery just died. to fix it one must completely pull the trigger back a few times rapidly, until it works again, or pull battery out and replace with same battery.

im hoping its just lower quality because of the last 1.5 years and the supply issues therein.

Went to pick up a Dewalt that was on sale but they were sold out good thing it was because I got this bad boy right here at a deal and it is more than what I expected great product

Went to and dropped over 2k in tools in two days. Everything else was perfect except the impact drivers. Must of been a bad batch or something. Batteries and chargers only worked for a couple minutes then died. Maybe just a fluke. Well returned them and purchased a much more pricey brand and they worked fine. Hope you do not end up with one from my batch.

Great deals, Black Friday for only $ 49. I went to the store early in the morning but didn’t see this product. The clerk searched through the computer and finally found it at the top of the shelf. After I went home to install the battery, the 8X3 screws couldn’t penetrate the 2X4 lumber, and the battery showed low power. After about an hour of charging, wow! The powerful torque starts to play out, and work quickly and easily.

  22. Johnny

Battery takes an hour to fully charge. Not bad. It’s 1.3ah battery. Very nice grip. I just got it today. Speed adjusted on how far you pull the trigger. Slow to lightning speed.i saw large batteries avail online if u want to step it up. And cheap too. larger battery provides more torque..I’ve seen this proven in YouTube. Anyway. Great deal. Model cmcf800c2 comes with 2 batteries. I got that one. $80

  23. Glen

I bought the impact driver and after one charge neither battery worked, so I returned it to have the same thing happen again. Since 12/20/18 I have had six batteries all go bad. I use it probably five to ten hours a week. Time to return it again.

I got to use this impact driver this past weekend on a deck project and it did not disappoint!!. the power of this driver is amazing. i have used a regular drill driver in the past to drive screws, but not anymore. this thing had so much power and it lasted with the battery for the majority of the project. If you do not own one of these, i would suggest you go and try it for yourself. I will use this on all of my home projects from now on and leave the drill driver for drilling holes.

This 1/4” Craftsman impact driver seems to be a very good tool as is all Craftsman products. Only downside I see is it is a little heavy. It’s 20 volt and has plenty of power. The quick release chuck makes it very easy to change drives and bits. The two included batteries seem to charge pretty fast. It has a led light that comes on when the trigger is pulled. The grip fits my hand easy.

  26. Travis

Make sure you get a protection warranty especially if you are going to be using tool daily. Have had to replace a few over time going through hard work environments but overall great impact for its price. fyi its great with there protection warranty replacement that day just make sure you save receipts of warranty.

  27. Debbie

Purchased a second one so that we have an extra in our farm shop. Now we have two awesome impact drivers! The only draw back is that this one uses the new battery so my batteries are not interchangeable!

  28. Jerry

Great torque and precise speed control. Battery life is exceptional. I plan to pick up more 20V Craftsman tools to replace aged 18V DeWalt’s I have in my own shop as well more to give as Christmas gifts. So happy that the Craftsman brand is now available at .

Got 2 of these kits since they were $6.99 at the time of review. I regularly destroy and/or lose bits so having kits that were at least more indestructible is nice. The Torx (T6) bit still rounded off a little after a few bad angles to removing long screws holding my raised beds together (still usuable, but started slipping). Overall these are probably 50-60% stronger than regular bits made of chinesium. I use an 18V ryobi drill (non-impact/hammer) if you need to evaluate the power level they took. You still can’t hardly get a kit like this in non-impact rating for the same price, so I am very happy! I would be willing to pay $15-19 to get this again if price were to rise.

33-piece organized compact kit that fits in the bags with power tools. It’s great

  31. Daddydave

Another great cordless driver from Craftsman. The 20v family of cordless tools, and supporting products is first rate.

This driver has plenty of power, fits really well in my hand and just feels lighter than other brands. I think the weight of the driver is more centered over your grip which reduces fatigue. The 3 Year warranty is a big plus. Batteries are 2 years which is a plus as well in my book.

Has expected features which include a light, quick change chuck and the 20v
    Lithium batteries.

I used on a project which included over 100 screws. Never changed battery or felt like I needed too.

If this tool is on your need or want list you won’t be disappointed.

Great bank for the buck from Stanley-Black and Decker and Craftsman company.

Purchased 12/15/2018 just stopped working in the middle of a project 4/16/2019 not even 6 month. Good thing I had a backup to finish the work.
