[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had some hedges that needed removed so I used the flex hand saw to cut through the limbs. It cut through quick and clean. The battery has a notifier light to show how much battery life is left and there are also nice guide lights to help in placing the saw in right position to cut. Has a great fit to hand and really easy to use. Also has a nice bag for storage.

I was a Wildland firefighter for about 20 years, and we did all our renovations in our stations. Now I’m a Restoration Supervisor, we use power tools all day long, we do a lot of demolition, cutting everything out to remove wet and burned material.
I have used many and all different brands of wireless and corded power tools. The guys I work with have sets of the different brands out there, so it was cool to see them venture over to see how well Flex works.

The one big thing that stands out and for me and it’s the one thing I will first say when asked. It’s how it’s made. It feels like a tool not a toy. I have dropped mine from about 12 feet up and it landed on the butt end, it didn’t crack, no broken pieces. Picked it up and never thought twice about it, climbed back up and started cutting away. There are many other brands out there that have the same concept with the one-handed reciprocating saw but using something that feels durable, worth every penny, and every word that describes this saw from Flex. I am SOLD!
I will not USE another brand again.

At times it can be very frustrating because of batteries that won’t last long at all. Walking back and forth to change it out every hour and a half or so. I got 5 hours out of the 2.5 battery. That is cutting wood flooring, drywall, water piping, and at times subflooring. (Side note it didn’t even hurt it by getting wet when one of my guys hit a water supply line). It has a very smooth trigger that allows you to make cuts more precise. Along with the Flex Demolition blades, I was able to use one blade for 4 jobs without noticing a difference. Now, what it went through was wood flooring, subflooring, cooper piping, grout, drywall, screws, nails, siding. It ran through everything like it was day one with that blade until I noticed I was running low on teeth. There is just a huge difference, the way the blades are made, they are thicker and more durable than others I have had used in the past.

The power behind the 24V is amazing. I have the 5.0 battery and that thing is a beast I can only imagine what the 10.0 and 12.0 batteries do.

I let most of the guys use the Flex tools I have, to see if they like them, well now, they rather come and search me out to use the Flex Tools specially the one-handed reciprocating saw. When I asked them why, they said “it just feels good in your hand, the battery lasts longer, the lights on that thing are mini head lights” one said “the locking mechanism for the blade is awesome, instead of having to touch a hot blade to take it out, it just pops out, but you got to remember to turn it all the way because if you don’t, it won’t work right.” I have saved myself more time and money with just the battery alone.

Those tight to get in spaces that need to be cut are easy and no sweat at all. I got the one hand reciprocating saw in April and have used it just about every day. I would recommend Flex tools and for the most part the One-Handed Reciprocating Saw for anyone who does construction, restoration or any kind of work in those fields or even if you just want good tool for you home DIY stuff. Pleased and expectations were met and over exceeded.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] FLEX – ONE-HANDED RECIPROCATING SAW KIT is well made quality and comfortable to work with. Easy to trim tree branches and navigate without cord. It’s also has nice guide light to help place the saw in right position to cut. Works great for many other projects around the house.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first word that comes to my head with this product is just wow. From the moment I held this saw to the point I actually used it, it was just like none other. I really like how it had great vibration resistance while using this. I was able to cut through big roots and wood with ease. Something that would have taken me 5 minuets to chop with an axe, took all but 5 seconds with this saw. The blade is very easy to put in and take out, and I feel safe with the way it feels when locked into place. This is one of my new favorite Flex tools.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Saw has plenty of power and cuts smoothly. The spring loaded blade eject system does not work very well. Out of the box it was very sticky, it does not spring back to locked position, and it was difficult to twist to lock or unlock. The twist lock requires getting two fingers inside the blade guard, which is difficult with gloves on. There is only a vertical blade position, no horizontal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the perfect tool for jobs that are too big for a manual hand saw/pruners or those that are too small to deal with the hassle of a chainsaw. Not very loud, handles really easy with just one hand, and the battery charges super fast. For me it cuts through mid-size tree branches like butter and I don’t smell like gas from the chainsaw and am not covered in sawdust! Big wins in my book.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a few other FLEX products and they’re stout. I was a bit worried about the weight of this given how well-built the other’s feel in your hand. Not a worry here. Once you put the battery on the back heel the balance is well designed. Quick release on the blade is simple too which is really helpful. Battery-life is perfect for my projects, I’m not using it for hours on end. I sliced through some crates like butter! Highly recommend if you’re building out your arsenal of flex products or starting w/ this one w/ plans to add more given the batttery interchanges.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first FLEX brand tool and I am very pleased. I put this to the test right away, removing an old fence and replacing it with a new one. This has more power than it seems like you’re using, it doesn’t vibrate so much you feel like your hand is going numb but still works hard going through the boards. The battery life was exceptional, I got through most of my demo before charging it during a break. The blade life is really good as well, I haven’t needed to change it out yet which is a surprise. Overall a great tool and easy to use, gets the job done.

  9. Prestige Mechanical

Bought the one handed reciprocating saw and really like the 1” stroke on the tool. It’s very balanced and lighting is very nice. I do residential and commercial HVAC, appliances, plumbing and a lot of gas piping repair and installations.
When I need to cut something up quick this tool rips through whatever easier than any other one handed recip saw.
Plus the lifetime warranty is a no brainer as a business owner.
Hope one day FLEX comes out with a deep cut bandsaw soon along with compact 12v tools ! ! !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great saw, I use it mainly for cutting down small trees, my back yard is a mess and I was there for about 3 hours just cutting them down. The battery life is amazing after using it for so long very durable, same with the blades it comes with I still didn’t have to change the one iv been using. Powerful enough to attack anything that comes my way. With the extra blades the tool comes with you’ll have spares. Fast charging, tool free blade replace, powerful motor. Great product!

  11. chance_7390

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an overall great saw with a lot of features. The work light makes it easy to see what I’m working with. I’m not sure how long the battery lasts, but I’ve used it a few times without needing to recharge. I also like that the battery has an indicator light, so I always know how much power I have left and when I need to charge it. It’s a little heavier than my last saw; it could be rough if you’re using it at a difficult angle.

  12. papaskippy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this saw because I wanted to trim tree branches on my property. It does a great job and easy to handle compared to a corded model. I can go anywhere in my yard without a cord. It hold a charge for an hour and has a light which illuminates the work area. It charges in no time and the blades are changes without touching them. With a lifetime warranty and fast cutting time this is a great addition to my tool chest!

  13. Kasy

It cuts very smoothly, the added weight towards the front helps with guiding yoyr blade to make straighter cuts. The grip is great, the color is great, the snap on for the blad is great. The saw does have a slight half a second delay when starting but to me this is beneficial because it gives me the slight second to prepare my hand im cutting with and the product im cutting

  14. faithforcehandyman

For the tool I had been looking at, I was actually out of town on vacation and the family I was staying with had a few minor repairs of some things they needed didn’t bring my tools with me I was on vacation so I went ahead and bought one I did have a couple batteries with me. Considering the type of solid is I was able to make all the cuts that I needed and repair some decking and furniture for my relatives.

  15. Gtlugz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The saw itself is comfortable in the hand and slightly nose heavy which gives you that extra advantage when cutting downward. The best part of this saw is the speed trigger you can start out slow to lineup your cut and then kick up the speed to finish through. I also like that they put a light on the top and bottom of the blade. The saw cuts through effortlessly with no real pressure needed.

  16. St6258wv

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time out of the box I used this to cut up a 30 year old 12’ x 12’ wooden shed. The shed was over engineered and very heavy and I needed to cut it up for hauling in the truck. This one handed saw allows for easy cut direction and let’s you hold material with the other hand. Battery lasted until I was completed with the demolition! This is a great addition to my power tools.

  17. Anonymous

I have already used it for cutting sheet rock vertically down a stud. A regular two handed saw is not as accurate or stable enough for following the line. I also plan to use it saw branches and small bushes around the house as I can hold the branch or bush with my left hand while I trim with the saw. Did I mention I love that thing?

  18. Flotron16

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This saw is perfect for those around the house remodel projects, and the size makes it super convienent to get into those tight places when you don’t want to tear out a whole wall just a little piece or something. I also use this to trim up my trees since I can use one hand and clear as I go! Great power packed into this saw!
