This floodlight camera is the best! It works better than the ring doorbell that I originally bought, ended up bringing it back and exchanged it for one of these. Very happy I did that. Had it for a few months now, I purchased the monthly subscription for the videos to save on the cloud for security purposes , I haven’t tried the SD card slot yet. Now purchased a second floodlight camera but haven’t decided where to put it. Recommendation is to have alerts for people, pets, vehicles, etc. and to be able to customize the alerts for the certain things.

Had this for a few months now and love it. Lights up my entire driveway at night can see all the way out to the road.

My outside wall outlets are two wire in this late 70’s house most camera lights will not work without the third ground wire, this is one of the few that will and it’s also google/alexa compatible…i.e. either will display the camera output on their hub units. It did become disconnected from my network accidentally and I had to clear cache and lots of other hassle before I could finally get it to reconnect. The light is very bright, the microphone picks up speaking level sounds nearby and google home can display the output on one of their hub units. It has a built in micro sd card if you don’t want to pay for online storage. Works well, would get another only thing they need to work on is the mounting that it comes with is not very versatile.

Area settings don’t seem to work very well, still alerts every time a car goes by. SD worked for about a week, now saying SD can’t be found? Need senior user guide for dummies!

I’ve been fighting with another brand of device like this one for over a month and it cost quite bit more, it goes back to the store tomorrow even after a good bit of attention from their tech support dept. It appears that this sort of device is pretty much a beta no matter which one you choose. There are several different types of wifi on the market these days and depending upon which wifi chip was used in the manufacture it might not like all of them. Like most devices of this nature it cannot use 5 Ghz, only 2.4 Ghz (2.4 has more range). This would not connect to my current technology wifi 6 mesh router that puts both 5 and 2.4 Ghz under a single name. I have an older wireless N 2.4 Ghz router that I use for the stubborn devices, it connected to that one just fine. I gave this four stars for a couple of small things, 1-they used a small gauge wire where it connects to your house power…small gauge=not sturdy treat these wires as if fragile when you install. 2-I think they were trying to create a flexible mounting system but they failed miserably, many folks complaining about this one too. Some engineering may be necessary to create a wiring area not open to weather or insects (that also looks nasty) Be aware the fixture is jointed and open in places which may also be a place water is entering the unit. 3-Many, many, reports of water getting inside the unit I strongly suggest you mount this out of direct weather such as under an eave and that the light is angled up parallel with the wall not perpendicular. This one will replace my porch light on the front door so should be ok. My neighbor’s naughty mutt keeps escaping the fence and coming over and porch pirating anything delivered to the door that isn’t taken in fast enough (including my dog’s bag of dog food…). I tried out the two way audio it seems loud enough both ways. I strongly suggest to anyone not to just mount this on the wall and try to connect it later, buy a grounded appliance power cord three wire black white green (five bucks) wire to that and plug it in for setup then you can be sure it has connected, micro sd cards are formatted and installed etc. first. Installing the app wasn’t hard connecting to the network worked easy for me but in case you have an issue here’s some stuff to check. 1-network name not too long and no special characters, 2- turn off cell data network on your tablet/phone, 3-if you also have a 5 Ghz network in your house you may need to temporarily shut it off for it to connect. Make sure your router is set for wpa1 or wpa2 network security, don’t use MAC filtering. Most of these devices say android five or newer but remember that 11 came out not long ago if you’ve got a newer version of android there may still be issues with that. When it all connected an update was downloaded, just set it to auto firmware update but of course device won’t be working while updates are installing. The “alarm” is a sort of annoying sound that I’m not sure i’d hear going on outside with the windows closed if you set motion detection it will push to your phone…there are quite a few settings and continuous video is available. The unit doesn’t come with microSD card 128 are not too expensive if you shop and should give you around 2 weeks continuous record more if you set it only on motion event.

The floodlight is bright and the motions sensor works great. I really like being able to turn on the light using one of my smart devices or from the app on my phon. There is the added bonus of an alarm that you can set off to scare intruders, I highly recommend this product!
