Long lasting battery and super simple to operate!

Bought this little saw to help with branches and smaller logs so I didn’t have to bring out the gas powered chain saw, or fuss with reaching things with the electric one. The saw has been amazing, and is now my favorite saw. It is lightweight, which is a big plus, and has been perfect for cutting fallen branches and limbs, and for smaller logs. The only drawback was that the battery only lasted for 1/2 and hour (which was pretty amazing, considering the workout it gets) so I have ordered a backup.

I purchased this saw to help clearing light brush at the rear of our property. My gas powered 16″ saw was too heavy for the job, and my it was too far (about 180′) for my corded electric saw. most of the brush and vines were about 1″ to 1-1/2″. This saw was perfect for the job; light enough to easily use for several hours, and made short work of these vines and brush. vines and branches from 1-1/2″ to 2″ were a bit difficult and I needed to fire up the gas saw for anything over 2″. Stuff under 1/2″ was a bit too springy and I needed a pair of hand loppers for that. The saw does leak a little oil, but that’s pretty much the nature of all chain saws, and this one leaks a lot less than my old corded electric pole saw. I would happily buy another.

I bought this saw 2 years ago. I am 52 year old woman. It is perfect for anything I want to cut. It is lightweight and small but yet powerful enough to get the job done. I have used it many times in many different settings. The battery has never run out. It charges quickly. I have recommended it to many other people who have also purchased one. I can not recommend this chainsaw enough. I love it. My husband also like to use it for small stuff. You will not regret buying this chainsaw!

I bought this chain saw and continue to use it. The chain keeps coming off, but I have figured out how to keep it adjusted correctly. It is great for small seedlings and small limbs. I love this saw. Battery lasts a long time. I would recommend buying a second battery, because you may be at the end of your cutting and need just a little more time to finish. Don’t buy this for big projects. But great for cleaning up and lots of pruning where the loopers are just too hard to use.

I bought this little 24vt last spring after giving up trying to start my gas one. I wanted something dependable, easy to use and light- even though I tended to demand fairly heavy use of my saws. When I got it it seems kinds of whimpy and really light weight. I thought, “oh well, that was a mistake”
Wow, was I surprised by the results. The little devil cut right through just about anything I put it up against under a foot thick. I found quickly, let it do the cutting, don’t force it and let it rip right through on it’s own and it will.. Also, surprise, the 24 vt battery cut for a long time in the pile that the storm brought down and I put it away without recharging. Contrary to most power saws that use chain bar oil- I still have not refilled it as it it 1/2 full after many additional cuttings. Wow, I’m impressed.

Am a 72 yr old woman who thought this chainsaw would be great, & has been ‘til I got the recall ! “Under certain circumstances it can remain ON! Called, & was told they will ship the part to repair it to me- like my car manufacturer telling me “ Your accelerator “may stick , but we’ ll send you the part to repair it. Have to have part shipped to a repair place 40 some miles away, wait for part & repair, meanwhile the saw is useless.

I bought this at the beginning of the year. I had never used a chainsaw and this was very easy to handle. This is one powerful little tool. It has an 8 inch chain. I have used it on dead trees in the yard that I’d been wanting gone. The largest tree had a circumference of around 10-12 inches. I haven’t had to add anymore bar oil and I’ve used it about 20 hours so far. Not heavy or bulky at all.

  10. Grandma with a chain saw

I am a 75 year old woman, and it is light enough for me to work with it. Also, I never did anything with a chain saw before it came, so was a bit nervous, but no reason was found to continue being fearful!! It is just what I need to get rid of some of the small trees that have come up on our property!

I purchased this 12″ chainsaw and Had gas. Now being over 70 years old it was just to much of a pain .After I had gotten it I could not have been happier.I charged and put to use. Was the perfect tool for me. I only have an acre and is doing stuff I did not expect. Have been very pleased with saw.

I bought this for my 80 year old mom. The battery lasted much longer than I expected and I was surprised how well it cut even larger pieces. The one drawback is that the battery is difficult to remove from the saw when it is time to recharge – almost impossible for my mom to do herself.

  13. Tim1973

Bought during storm that knocked down allot of trees. Was skeptical until i ran for 1 hours and still had half 60 volts charge left. Went and got a second one so friend could help. Only negative is you need to drain chain oil when Done or it will leak all over sitting.

Purchased this item several months ago and have used it to cut down and section about 30 trees which were up to 6″ in diameter. Even used it to cut the base of a large thick old yucca plant. It is lightweight and easy to handle. Hasn’t let me down once.

  30. John Kelly

My chainsaw has room for a bigger battery, I didn’t know one was available! At check out, a bigger battery should have been offered.
Sure, more money, but that’s sales! Now I feel like I should have bought the bigger battery. I’m disappointed.

  31. Elisabeth L

We are quite happy with our new little chainsaw. We had been avoiding using traditional large gas powered chainsaws because of the weight, fumes, and vibration. This tool has the power we need and none of those drawbacks.

  32. Cfour

Did what I wanted it to. Good price was able to take down a bunch of trees on one charge. If you are looking for a hobby chainsaw this clicks every box. It was easy to set up and go to work. My 12 was able to use it.

  33. Silverdollarbill

Just received my 16 inch 40 watt chainsaw. I couldn’t wait to start trimming down some Leyland Cypress trees that had gotten out of control. I used it for two hours without the battery dying out. Very pleased so far.

  34. Kristakass

I bought the 12” chainsaw on the advice of a friend, and I LOVE it. My husband saw how easy it is to use and just ordered an 18” chainsaw for himself! No more cord pulling to mess up his already messed up shoulder.

This chainsaw is perfect for small and even large tree cutting projects around my property and I love the way Greenworks offers this tool at a very reasonable price without the battery. I own many of the other tools including lawnmowers, and each have batteries with them so I only needed the tool by itself in this case. This small chainsaw is so compact and easy to store as well as lightweight and easy to handle where ever I take it. It is portable and so nice to be cordless. I’ve taken it to other locations to volunteer where they needed a chainsaw. I just brought two fully charged batteries and went to help. There was not any power source out there so the battery operation was perfect and had plenty of power. Two fully charged batteries was all I needed to cut for the whole length of time the project required. I had the extra batteries because I have two Greenworks lawnmowers, the leaf blower, and the weed eater, and each came with batteries so I have extra batteries for all the tools because the 40 Volt G-Max batteries are interchangeable. I love these products.

I am a 63 year old widow and I found the Greenworks Chainsaw to be very easy to start and handle. Just charge the battery and push a button..its that easy. And its light weight also so no heavy lifting.

  37. ATEAR

WE USED IT FOR AT TRAILER PARK TO CLEAN BRUSH ALONG THE SHORE. I’M 74 YEARS OLD. I USE IT TO TRIM TREES AND CUT CAMP FIRE WOOD. IT’S LIGHT AND IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO CUT 10IN WOOD

  38. nomie4

I bought this a month ago and it is the best chain saw I’ve ever owned. I use it for gardening and trimming small branches around my 1 acre lot. I only wish I knew about it years ago!!!!!

  39. Lady Vol

First Time using it I loved it! Just the right size & weight, wasn’t the least bit heavy! I just hope when I have to use it again it still impresses me

  40. C Pepper

This chain saw is exactly what i was looking for! It’s light enough, but tough enough for me to take care of limbs and small trees on our property.

  41. Carp jr

Bought this to use it at my cabin with 60 wooded acres. I used it to clear trails and was very impressed with the cut speed and longevity of charge

  42. Anonymous

Needed a smaller chainsaw for trimming my trees and saw this saw online. A friend has several Greenworks tools and figured I might like this one.

  43. hwrankin2

I gave had my 10″ saw for more than a year. It cuts well and the battery life is acceptable. I purchased an extra battery so I could cut longer.

  44. Xtian

I bought this saw a couple weeks ago over another brand saw. For the money, I got twice the saw and charger/battery. No brained!
