This was the only bump feed corded trimmer that I could find, the other brands use auto feed. My old bump feed trimmer broke (after 25+ years) and parts were no longer available. This Greenworks model is more powerful, faster, and more adjustable than my old Weedeater and doesn’t require a fat extension cord. I prefer the bump feed as it doesn’t waste trimmer line like most auto feed models. It also has a three year warranty. Only used it once so far, but it feels like a quality product.

Received this corded trimmer yesterday and used it to trim and edge the lawn today. No complaints at all and I’m very happy with it. All adjustments are easy and I was able to position it ergonomically for both trimming and edging for my 5’6″ height. My 5’2″ wife wants to use it too. The bump to release line is new to me but I’m very happy with it since it doesn’t waste line by releasing every time I let off the trigger. Bumping in the trimming position is easy but bumping when it’s set for edging was a bit awkward to twist it around. But it’s very acceptable and a minor tradeoff. Part of the reason I chose this trimmer is that I’ve had a Greenworks battery mower for 3 years and it’s been great.

Rather than buying more gas yard tools I was looking to start transitioning to electric – much easier to decarbonize our electrical grid than the chemistry of a gas engine. That said, I was hesitant to get a cordless model (didn’t want to fuss with batteries deteriorating over time). So, as long as you don’t mind getting used to trial and error finding the best way to maneuver with a cord, it’s hard to beat this bundle. The mower is small but mighty – probably not great for a big yard, but for our ever-shrinking grass footprint this was the perfect size. The trimmer is powerful and easily converts to an edger. All the tools are easy to stow away so they take up less space in the shed. For the price, you can’t beat the value. Looking forward to many seasons to come using these tools.

works great until I had to replace the twine cartridges Can’t find them anywhere not even through to manufacturer. very disappointing

Overall I really like this trimmer. It’s lighter than my old Craftsman trimmer. The only thing I wish is that it adjusted just a little longer for a 6′-2″ guy like me. It seems to be designed for average size (5′-10″ or less) people.

These work great. No more fumes or noise from the old gas powered equipment. Just make sure you have a long enough outdoor extension cord.

  17. Fedia

It is not cordless. That is annoying to have your lawnmower plugged in the outlet like it’s a vacuum cleaner.
