Using it for one month and no issues. My grandchildren are a good test of endurance for this product and it past. Thank you for being there for us. Great product. Quiet also.

This garbage disposal is super easy to install. Our old garbage disposal broke and we replaced it with this one. We did not have any trouble installing this model. No assistance needed. It did however take two people to lock it into place. The sink drain piece turned when we tried to lock it into place. I had to stand in the sink on the drain while my husband turned the disposal to lock it. It works perfectly and it is very quiet compared to our other garbage disposal! Very happy with my purchase.

Replaced a 14 year old 1/2 HP KitchenAid disposal with this unit. Not wanting to do any extra plumbing, I selected this unit because it appeared to be approximately the same diameter/height as the old disposal and had virtually identical dishwasher and drain connections. The twist-lock collar mated perfectly with the existing one mounted in the sink, which I ended up leaving in place since it still looked like new. Wiring was also straightforward. Although I had initially considered a much more expensive unit assuming they would be quieter, I can’t believe how quiet this model ended up being. A very good bargain.

Bought at Lowe’s to replace an older Badger unit which also only lasted a few years. Noticed water under the sink today which was leaking out onto the floor. The flange to the sink is OK, the drain plumbing is also OK. Water is leaking through the housing and out the bottom of the motor unit when water is even just being run in the sink. This unit is only run for 15-30 seconds a couple times a week. ISE used to be a great company and I’ve had older units that lasted 10-15 years. The entire Badger line is total “Builder Grade” junk. Will NEVER buy an ISE product again in my lifetime. Never buy any product if the company only offers a one year warranty. This means they don’t trust their own products to even offer a 2-3 year warranty.

This was my first time installing a garbage disposal. I had a Badger 5 that developed a leak on the back of the unit. It was in the house when I bought it 17 years ago so its at least that old. Replaced it with the same model and swap out couldn’t have been easier. Turn off your disposal breaker at the breaker box before starting. If you are getting moisture under you sink and cannot figure it out, check the back side of your disposal. I’ve included a pic of the old one and unfortunately that was not visible from the front side.

I used the box from the new unit and a couple of shim board scraps on top to brace for possible fall of the old one while disconnecting everything. Now I just have to cut a new plywood floor to go into my cabinet base since the old one was pressed wood. You may or may not need to do that. I would advise anyone to check the subfloor too and see if the water damaged it or if its wet or has any mildue or mold under there. I had to spray some mold with bleach cleaner. Letting it all dry out before replacing the cabinet floor. Just a tip in case you are thinking about skipping that step.

My old Badger Insinkerator rusted from the inside & was leaking, so after about 8-10 years, time to replace. This is my second replacement in 20 years, the first being there when I purchased this house. I’m 68 and not flexible enough to twist under the kitchen sink, so I took my time. With breaks, it was 2 hours with the worst part freeing the old unit. I would have given 5 Stars, but they do rust out & a stainless steel seems like it would be better. Of course SS would be twice the $. Overall, I’m very happy & like the smooth quiet operation. My next one, when I’m closing in on 80, will be done by a plumber.

We just finished a kitchen remodel which included a Badger 1 garbage disposal. Our kitchen design included a sink base cabinet with a revise drawer, (a pull out drawer on the bottom) which would limit space for a disposal.
The size of the Badger 1 was perfect. Reviews spoke about higher than normal noise levels but since the size was the most importance feather we purchased one.
Bottom line is its easy to install, a quality product, plenty of power, and quieter than the one we replaced, I can find no fault with it, and would recommend it.

I rated in Overall Rating and Quality only fair because the previous one, same brand and product started to leak from the motor casing.. It did not leak from water connections or any other place.
It started to leak about a couple of years after we bought it, and it would only leak a few drops occasionally. The under cabinet was always humid or wet. I checked for leaks several times with water faucets open and not a single drop was visible.. It was until I discovered the leak only happened when we operated the InSinkErator, And it happened accidentally because my wife operated the motor while I was checking for leaks, then I noticed it exactly on the backside, very difficult to find.
I will attach a couple of pictures so you can see for yourself.

We love this disposal. It replaced one that began to leak and was the original (18 years old.) We almost needed to wear protective gear to avoid hearing loss. (Just kidding, but it was really loud.) THIS ONE IS SO QUIET. We feared it would be the same as the old and considered getting a super quite model, but cost was a factor. We thought is was an acoustical issue related to the fact that we have a stainless steel sink. This one is so quiet that I’m not sure why they even have “whisper models”. If noise is your issue, buy with confidence that this one is super quiet for the money. We prefer to buy from because of there stellar customer service. They are amazing to work with if there is a problem.
