Very solid design, light weight; no flimsy material anywhere. Electronic brake is superb; low noise mode is extremely nice; you can use it in your apartment. Clear line of sight, and 90 degree blade from factory. No adjustment needed out of the box. It is much smaller as well than my corded one (different brand). Price was excellent. Other brushless saws are twice the price.

I have now several Metabo HPT tools and all of them have been excellent so far. It seems like a true engineer’s company; which brings me to the only con … horrible instructions. You will need a lot of patience and cognitive effort to read through the instructions and to understand them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I find it more powerful and smoother to operate than and other cordless I’ve used or owned. When I go work with crews, they usually have dewalt and all end up wanting to use my metabo cordless tools. Used it to cut large cypress beams, deck boards, plywood, vinyl, etc. Thank yall for giving us the metabo brand option. I look forward to new products in the metabo cordless hpt line.

  3. Straightupbuilders

I bought this saw and right out the box cut stair stringers out of 2x12x20! no breaking it in or anything the saw powered thru the treated lumber with ease. 178 cuts later the strings turned out great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this circular saw about a month ago because my old yellow one died on me and the reason I went with metabo hpt is recently I had purchased their triple hammer impact and their reciprocating saw and those are power houses so I knew I would be getting the circular saw and once again I’m glad I did the saw is powerful and it has a silent mode to lower the r p m and the sound just an awesome feature I love my metabo hpt tools I would definitely recommend this saw or any of their tools the multivolt system is a powerhouse

  6. frametheworld

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a framing carpenter of almost 10 years now. I work outside in the elements, hot, cold, wet, dry, you name it! I got this saw about 3 weeks ago now, I am typically a worm drive guy but was interested in trying something cordless and different than what I’m used to as well. I have to say I’m quite impressed actually. It has been extremely cold these last few weeks and my battery seemed to deliver consistent power regardless, and charged up with no issues. I went into the saw the same as I would my corded saw i didn’t baby it, and was presently surprised. I have been using this saw to cut wall plates, stairs, plywood sheeting, and just about everything in between. I feel I have given it a good workout and asked as much from it as I would my corded saw. It has a few features that I liked and a few that I didn’t. As I said I’m normally a worm drive guy so the first thing I’d the blade is on the opposite side of what I’m used to, however the window on the left side to see down to the blade is actually pretty big and easy to see through. And when I couldn’t get a good sight line to it I was easily surprised to see the guide on the table was dead on! Anyone that has ever used a saw knows this isn’t always the case. The saw had plenty of power even doing some long rips on 2×8 doug fir to fir out a steel beam, no problem. The battery delivered consistent and strong power all the way through. My blade was a little wore out so it wasn’t as fast as it could have been but thats not the saws fault. The bevel guage is accurate and right on straight out of the box, no complaints there. The saw features a mode called silent mode which basically gives the saw half power and makes it very very quiet. Being a framing carpenter and working outside this isn’t a feature I particularly used but I could see where it would be beneficial to have. It also has a dust blowing feature that clears the area in front of the table where your cutting, the guy that came up with this needs a medal! What am amazing idea, so simple yet very pleasing to the user! Couple draw backs, and there wasn’t many. There is no guage for blade depth. When I was using it on the roof for plywood this made adjusting my depth take a little longer than if it had measurement marked on it. That being said being able to pick up the saw and just head up to the roof without a cord and all the extra weight of a bigger saw was very nice! It also doesn’t have a rafter hook and that is one feature I had a hard time getting used too, but wasn’t impossible to deal with. Over all I am very pleased with my saw and will absolutely continue to use it daily.

The best one out there, the only that may be as good is the Dewalt flexvolt but the way Metabo gaves batteries with any any 36v bare tool purchase this last year you just cannot beat it. I have almost every multivolt tool Metabo hpt makes including their larger tools, table and chop saws and they are just top of the line, I have gotten a free battery on probably 75% of my purchases and now they are offering free battery and charger. I’ve owned them all and these are top of the line.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in 2019 and it is one of the most versatile tools you can buy. Add that it is Metabo HPT (formerly Hitachi), you know you’re getting a great tool with great value and dependability. Things I love about the tool: Its got a great dust blower, the electric brake is really nice and stops as it should, and although I don’t use the soft start too often because I am just a DIY’er and mostly at home, it is a great option. I have other Metabo HPT tools and love that I can also go corded or cordless with this brand. One thing that is odd is the small handle, but that’s being nitpicky.

  9. State farm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The circular saw is light weight, ergonomic and cuts great. While cutting the blade is visible from the left side. The little handle allows for the guard to be comfortably lifted and make awkward cuts if needed.

My only complaints are that there is no rafter hook. As well as there is no 22½ mark for beveled cuts.

  10. Rembrandt

This is the best circular saw I ever own, nice looking, I love the noiseless feature, great power, and the option to do it corded or cordless fantastic, love this machine. Use diablo blade for better performance.

  11. Bob19

Recently I purchased the htp 36volt skill saw.
I love it. I’ve alwasy used metabo in this Industry,6”grinder and 4” metal cut blade in the industrial side. I’m in the residential field now remodeling and renovation. There are many times a battery power tool in needed. This 36volt skill saw cut up 80 pc of 12 inch rips 1/2 plywood before needing to be charged. I WAS AMAZED. also the battery charger has a USB port for cellphone charging. Love that feature.
The saw is ridged and strong. No flex which is good. I’ll will keep buying Metabo Battery power tools. There are many more items that I can use in this 36v line of metabo tool.
    Thanks metabo.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just a couple days old and of usage but all together a terrific saw. No adjustments necessary… ready to use right out of the box.! Quiet saw with the “silent” option and will automatically increase rpm when necessary. Another fabulous feature is the dust blower… NEVER would I have thought it so convenient and never did I realize how often I did the blowing!!! Nothing beats the versatility of utilizing the same 36v battery OR the AC/DC adapter that I have with my HPT MULTIVOLT Miter Saw. Great combination!

  13. AllAroundHandyman

Haven’t used too much, but for the small project that I did, I’m very pleased with it’s performance. I used it cutting cedar wood for a fence. Some of the wood was a little damp which could cause cutting to be difficult. Not with this beast. It was smooth straight through. Cutting is accurate, sharp, and powerful. It fits the hand very comfortable. This saw is very solid, and I would recommend it to anybody.

  14. Ronnie

What can I say…this circular saw is hands down the best cordless I’ve owned. Cuts like a champ and has some useful features. I never thought I would need the L.E.D lighting. It really does make a difference. Being able to lower your rpm also helps with cutting different materials. All in all a great value.

  15. TreeStooges

This saw has the power to do as much as most worm drive saws but at a much lighter weight- the features are numerous; soft start, quiet mode, AC adapter, responsive break, dust blower – I have converted this saw to use my track saw as it is just the perfect saw for balance, power and precision

This is a great battery powered saw, but at over $200 it should come with a battery and charger.

  32. A2MR

I have used many brands of 15amp corded circular saws through out my career.
I bought this at Menards during the in store free battery with charger plus the free battery through Metabo online offers.
This is a powerful saw and will stand up to any plugged in saw.
I know that I have made a smart investment.
It stands side by side with Milwaukee’s offerings and more…..and has more power and features than dewalt’s flexvolt 7-1/4.
I have used Hitachi nailers and 18 volt products all my life and welcome what adding the Metabo greatness is going to bring to the table…..best grinders on the Planet!!!!!
