[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This AC adapter really is a must have for anyone that has bought a cordless Metabo miter saw, table saw, or circular saw. Having this adapter really makes these tools more versatile and doesn’t impend their full capabilities.

The ac adapter works great and is very well constructed. The cord is made of thick rubber and the capacitor and battery insert are made or the same plastic as the normal batteries.

Overall a must have to get the full capabilities out of the Metabo lineup.

This is a game changer! I literally have switched to Metabo HPT for the mere fact that they offer the ability to use a cord over battery. Its just a no brainer. To have that option unleashes so many possibilities for so many scenarios, it’s unreal. Great tools and great warranty/customer service on top of it all. Absolutely! Buy it, that’s all I can say.

I’ve been using this ac/dc adaptor for a few days now and it comes in handy Especially if your in a shop setting where having cords is no big deal!!! I can’t believe other companies have not done something like this it’s a life saver if your on a job and your batteries are dead you can just plug in the adapter and keep on working it’s probably not something you want to use on the drill or impact but for the higher demand tools such as the sds max, circular saw, or the Reciprocating saw it makes total sense you can have unlimited runtime!!! Metabo hpt is kicking butt right now and I highly recommended taking a look at there tools!!!!

This is the best idea I have seen in years. No other brand has this. It is one thing to have a cordless tool, but now have an option to keep working if your battery runs out of juice.. WOW… Hitachi was great and Metabo is an extension of that. Great quality and performance. Metabo has followed in those footsteps. Now this one battery runs all their cordless tools… Can’t ask for better than that. Metabo is offering a variety of tools that run off the same high power battery. The tools that I have bought are high quality and reasonably priced. They look just as good if not better than old Hitachi line. I was hoping this was the case and I was right…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a framing carpenter, and used the power cord adapter on my circular saw while cutting stairs. I was almost done and my battery ran out of juice and this little adapter was a life saver! Instead of going and getting another saw and taking the time to get set up all I had to do was unplug the battery and plug in the adapter! Its a little big with the converter box but they give you entry of cord and it was a lifesaver so ill call it more than a even trade!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I allways had to carry a corded version of critical tools in my truck in addition to my cordless ones. The convenience of corded tools is great, but when the batteries run out when Im doing a lot of work, I have to have one I can just plug in and keep going with. The AC adapter changes all that. I can just slap it on the cordless multi-volt 36v tool and keep going. Its the best of both worlds. On top of that, its a lot lighter than a multivolt battery and comes in handy when doing a lot of overhead work. The only downside other than having to plug in is that the tools are slightly less powerful when run off the adapter than off a battery. But most of the time you never notice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This adapter is one of the reasons for getting a full line of the Metabo HPT 18/36v tools. The best part about this adapter is that I’ve yet to need it in the past two years! It sits on my shelf, just in case.
I purchased several extra batteries, as well as the ones that came with some of the tools.

There was one job that I could have used it but didn’t. I was ripping a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ section out of a 6′ long fir beam using my table saw.

If you don’t want to purchase extra batteries, this adapter is a good alternate option.
Also could be useful if pushing the table saw, or grinder to their limits.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, this works well. having this to do repetitive work (hours of grinding) is very nice. Everything is built like a tank and the cable to the tool adapter is very pliable. Took a lot of dust and dirt and still works like a champ without any overheating. BUT this thing do output some heat. Even when it’s NOT being used! The fan on both the box and the adapter kicks on repeatedly even when not in use, and they do output some serious heat if you use the tool. If your body parts are close to the vent outlet (as you do when holding some tools) it could get uncomfortable. There should’ve been a switch on the unit to turn it off to prevent it from using power and getting hot and noisy.

  9. Nomad

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros:Extra long cord that I believe no other manufacturer of dual voltage system provides.
    Cons:
Overheats all the time the cooling fan inside the adapter runs almost all the time even if the tool is not running.
Which leads to the adapter burn out
I had to buy another one cause original burnt out. An it doesn’t matter if you using it on table saw for long ripping cuts,or just in miter saw to do quick cuts.
In order to prolong the life of it I have to remove it from the tool to stop the fan from running all the time. That’s why I use batteries all the time

For me, this thing is a game-changer. I’ve picked up a couple of Metabo hpt tools when it was convenient and one of them happened to be a (multi-volt) grinder. Picked this up on a whim and ran that grinder off of it for well over an hour in the sun the first time I used it and it hasn’t disappointed since.

Both fans are pretty noisy but they get lost in the din of a job site pretty quickly, and they certainly do what they’re supposed to do; might be something to consider on bigger semi-stationary tools though. The axillary connection to the “battery” is nice. When working outside I do sometimes wish this was a bit longer, but I suppose that’s what the batteries are for.

I’m more of a handyman and don’t work construction full-time, but for me this little ditty brings a ton of welcome flexibility, and because of it I’ll probably be looking at more multi-volt platform tools as time goes on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this for several months now and love it.

A multi volt adapter makes all your 36v tools also a corded tool so when the battery eventually dies you can run corded while it recharges.

I really appreciate Metabo HPT being the only company that would rather give the customer new and valuable options for powering their tools rather than trying to milk them by forcing you to have excess battery capacity on the worksite “just in case”.

This makes a “cordless” jobsite a reality without spending a fortune in batteries. Get enough batteries to be 90% cordless and this adapter for the other 10%. I intend to phase out my cordless tools on other battery platforms whenever Metabo has an equivalent and I have the money and then sell off my other color tools and batteries.

Bought this with the 36v 7-1/4″ circular saw. This is why I bought the saw. I suspect it would be harder to stall the saw with this versus the 4ah/8ah battery.(2000w output vs 1440+ for the big battery, but now one will confirm or deny..) This works so well with this tool, I am very impressed with the thoughtfulness and engineering behind this piece. It alone makes getting into this lineup. The quality and performance as well as an option that NOBODY else has
is a huge plus. Fan for life, go big green!

  23. Ajunco

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually like this product, but it’s usability is limited and limiting. If the transformer box was not so large it would be the best concept in tool power supplies available. I only use it when I am doing bench work and will not need much mobility.

Having the option of using a cordless tool, well, cordless and the endless power supply of a corded tool is great. But with the giant transformer used in this adapter you have very limited range. As an option for bench work it’s great. It’s usefulness on a job site not so much. But in a pinch if you underestimated how many batteries you might need having this behemoth and just plugging in is a blessing.

It does not make the tool you are using any more powerful, but does give you endless juice. It works, it’s just cumbersome.

  24. Ninjitsucarpenter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the AC adaptor for about a year and a half and it has earned it’s place in my toolbox. Good consistent power, fan cooled to keep the components from overheating. It does automatically shut off when it gets too hot, only for a few minutes til it cools down; it only does this when used continually on high power demand applications. I wish the transformer box had a heavy duty spring loaded belt clip, so I wouldn’t have to drag it around. Overall I am very satisfied with the tool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] purchased a few months ago
have used all the other brands and decided to try Metabo
so far working great much heaver than the other brands
    hopefully Because its better built
Rigid and dewalt as well as ryobi
have served me well but doing full time renovations wanted to see
if i could find tools that would last more than a year without breaking the bank
i love this adapter makes you wonder why the other battery tools companies did not do this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thats right, 36V Metabo HPT tools are no longer restricted to the finite life of a battery. This is because of the release of their 36V MultiVolt AC Adaptor. This device is one of the primary reasons I chose to go with Metabo HPT rather than a competitors brand. Nobody else has this ability and this sets Metabo HPT apart. Face it, the available sources of power is the most important aspect of any power tool. So if you have alternatives the odds of getting the job done are a lot better. I found this to be true just recently doing a lengthy home remodeling project. I needed tools to run off and on throughout the day and not be restricted by dead battery recharging. As a result I finished the remodel in record time. I should note that power strength remained consistent when either using batteries or the 36V MultiVolt AC Adaptor. Batteries live and then they die, but ac power goes on and on.

  27. bezhomie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] if you have multi-volt tools this a top item for them, you might think why would I want a cord on a cordless tool and the simple answer is batteries don’t last forever and if you are like me who happens to runs out of juice right before the job is 100% never fails just pop this in finish the job and done definitely beats waiting on batteries to charge when you are pretty much complete

  28. Frenchie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this a lot with my 36v miter saw. In my opinion it’s the best part of the multivolt platform. Batteries have a limited lifespan and we all know they aren’t cheap. So this gives you the choice to save them and extend their life. This ac adapter is a huge advantage in situations where you’ll be setting up cut stations and not moving you bigger equipment around so much.

  29. SeanA88

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This battery adapter is an awesome idea. It has a 20 ft cord that also pivots so the cord won’t wear out over time. Sometimes you don’t have enough batteries to keep cutting and this adapter works on most tools like the sawzall, miter, and table saw. You can also have a seperate battery charging and use the adapter so that you can keep working.

  30. Bwade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally got the opportunity to use my ET36A AC adapter today on the job and I was very impressed. To be honest I was skeptical at first due to it’s size and weight, but I must admit my hesitancy was for naught. I used the adapter in my cordless circular saw and it felt well balanced and not at all overly heavy. Today I was cutting rafters which require 5 individual cuts per board. I have enough batteries to do the job cordless but felt it was the perfect opportunity to try out the ac adapter. The pivoting cord kept the cord from ever coming near the blade, which is an added bonus. (Especially if you have your guard chalked back when cutting rafters) The adapter performed so well that I am ordering another one so that I have one in my shop and one in my truck at all times. I honestly can’t wait to use it with my 36v reciprocating saw and my miter saw. Thank you Metabo for another innovative tool that makes my job easier. Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with next.

  31. redlane65

I purchased this to work with my Hitachi 18V cordless devices. The part that fits onto the tool does not fit. When I contacted Metabo, they said that

  32. Maxp

I don’t use this much but when I do it’s a life saver. I had forgot my batteries on the charger one day and got to the job to drill holes in concrete. Always keep this in my truck for this reason, I was able to plug in my drill and drill away without my batteries. Great to have for emergencies.

  33. TXRedDawg

This is an amazing product, to be able to power your battery powered tool with an AC adapter is a game changer. I wanted a saw that is battery powered but most of the time I use it in my garage. Having an AC adapter is great so I don’t need to worry about running out of battery power.

  34. Remlap1286

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this early on when I bought my first metabo product which was the 36 volt hammer drill kit. this is such an awesome idea and from my understanding Metabo is the only power tool manufacturer that has an adapter like this. So you can use any 36 volt tool Corded or uncorded.

  35. Joshmanx

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of the options that draws me into metabo. I love cordless tools, but having the corded option gives that extra level of flexibility. I picked mine up on a deal, and have used it with my 36v miter saw. Works great and the cord is long and solid.

  36. MOG01

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old drill was getting pretty wore out, really struggling to even get screws driven all the way into a 2×4 and drywall. I got tired of that so I wanted an impact driver. After doing a bit of research I decided on the Metabo HPT, what a great choice it was.

  37. Creameans10

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this piece about two months ago and will never do without it again. This is a very nice and dependable product. You don’t have to worry about the battery dying and it gives you the option of using it 100% wherever you take it.

  38. Erik2392

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I highly recommend this accessory, the truth is that it greatly simplifies the work, giving the opportunity to extend the use of the tool in conditions that are not as favorable as when the battery runs out. excellent invention of metabo.

  39. Tree Stooges

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this for my mitre saw, table saw and grinder when I need more run time. Have also used it with the Mister Recipe saw as well. Love the option of being corded and cordless-thanks Metabo HPT for making the tools that give us options

  40. Cosmonaut

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Get ready to use your Metabo tools for the foreseeable future with this. My granddad tools from 50 years ago are still kicking because are wired. Now this makes it possible with battery powered ones as well. Well done Metabo.
