I was just thinking about comments of chain derailment. If they don’t know about the oiler, the chain will get hot and stretch. A loose chain will fly off.

This saw is just as pwerful as a gas saw, without the hassles of gas and oil mixing, hard starting and excessive noise. If you’re a homeowner who doesn’t have to carry a saw a half mile into the woods, this is a great option. It easily goes through trees and logs up to 15″ or so. The one thing that kept me from giving it all 5 stars is that the angled left-side handle (not mentioned in the description) takes some getting-used-to but omce you do it’s fine

I’m a petite woman and I bought this Oregon 16 inch chain saw to fall a couple of hardwood trees in my father’s backyard. Both of the trees are about 10-12 inch diameter trunks which cutting flush to the ground was the most difficult part due to proximity to the soil, density and width of the trunk, and large rocks embedded into the trunk. I watched many You Tube videos before starting. Never let the chain touch rocks or soil and never get overconfident. Using a powerful saw is no joke.
This 16 inch chain saw is meant for residential use, plenty power, but is a little too heavy for me 13 lbs so I do take a lot of rest breaks which is fine for me because the breaks allow me to analyze my next cut. The chain brake feature and that the chain stops immediately when you take your finger off the trigger are awesome.
(Professional arborists have much larger saws.) Cutting off the tree limbs down to the beginning of the trunk was easy with the chain that came with purchase. I started running into problems with the chain not cutting the trunk, took a lot longer and required more effort. I called Oregon company and they are awesome, the support person gave me confidence that I graduated from novice to intermediate and sent me a more aggressive chain called the VersaCut which is fantastic and I completed the projects effortlessly. Be careful if you buy the VersaCut chain, it is still a low profile chain but it is not a low kick back and the chain “teeth” are sharper than the chain that comes with purchase.
Beautiful small ribbons of wood coming out of the chainsaw . . . just the way it should look! Thank you for selling a great product!

Easy to use. No fussing with gas and oil and trying to get it to start. Plenty of power for the medium sized jobs I need it for. Good balance of functionality and economy.

  5. TONY

A strong well built electric chainsaw.
A pleasure to use and excellent chain adjustment.

  6. tropical

It works pretty well, until the chain comes off. It always happens. Not sure why.

  7. Meyers

Buzzed thru all the logs for this year. Worked great!

  8. DGRG

Chain keep falling Off! Saw did not meet my expectations.

I am an older adult female on the light side and under 5ft and I found this a bit heavy for me so returned and got a smaller chain saw I felt I could handle better. Looks like a really good saw but I never used it.
