With Christmas fast approaching, I knew a trip to the “cut your own” was in the offing (not my favorite place). The hand saws are never sharp, the weather is raw and usually snow lays thick on the ground. This year would be different with my new battery powered reciprocating saw from Skil (TM). In the first pic, I got my son to lay on the ground and have at the base. I had not brought a long enough blade, but we got most of the trunk sawed and finished the core with the aforesaid rusty dull handsaw. In the second pic, we had the netted tree in place but needed to re-saw the base to provide for capillary action throughout the season of light. This time I had a longer blade and the trunk bent to my will like onion dip before a thin chip! Finally, once the presents are gone, the lights removed and quiet returns, we need to limb and shorten the tree (pics 3 & 4) to get it out of the house. The saw made quick work of the job. Love the saw and here’s wishing all of you a mask free new year.

Over all Pretty good kit the only downfall is the 2.0 ah battery don’t last very long under heavy load but it definitely has power for the price and the charger ain’t cheaply made

I wanted to do some pine tree pruning of lower branches to help with wildfire mitigation. As a 65+ year old female, the hubby was not in favor of a chain saw so I opted for the reciprocating saw with a large pruning blade. I am impressed with the power and battery life of this saw and would highly recommend. I am attaching a picture of some branches removed.

Have only had this saw for a couple of weeks but I love it! Price was very reasonable and included a battery and charger. Holds a charge well. Not too heavy and so much more convenient than my sawzall that has a cord. Powerful enough to cut 4 or 5 inch limbs. Only comes with one blade but the blades from my Dewalt sawzall fit the Skil saw so lots of options.

We used our new 20V Reciprocating Saw with PWRCore with the 2.0Ah Lith battery on a nasty job of cutting out trees and bushes out of an old chain link fence. 3 times over the past 15 years we have hired several teen boys with saws and hatchets. Their best time was 20 hours of working time for the whole job. My wife and I, both in our 70’s, did the whole job in 5.5 hours with our new saw. I’ve got lots of ideas for future projects with our Reciprocating Saw. The Ad and Marketing materials are telling the truth about this product.

this was a very disappointing saw. wanted to cut through a 6×6 and it didn’t have the power to go half way through.

  7. Garry Milioti

Needed a cordless reciprocating saw but didn’t have much of a budget. I have a lot of Ryobi One stuff but felt their saw was a bit under powered and too much vibration. Everybody elses were expensive because you had to buy the battery pack and charger. Along came the Skill with everything I wanted at a great price, plenty of power, ease of handling. Just a really nice saw that didn’t break the bank. I highly recommend you look at this saw first, you’ll be surprised.

  8. Trucker Bill

I bought this saw for trimming small branches on my srubs but have also used it for light demo work also. I like the idea i can use the same 20v battery and charger as my skil circular saw. It works great for the light duty work i use it for. The 3 yr warranty and affordable price makes this saw a good value. I have been satisfied with all the skil tools I have in my arsenal, (wet saw) (weed wacker).

i used this saw yesterday and the day before. I was impressed at how easy it cut through branches and limbs. If you are looking for a reciprocating saw, and don’t want to worry about a long extension cord getting in the way, then ythis is for you. I zipped through limbs that were 3″-4″ in diameter without a problem. Bravo, Skil.

I just received this tool as a gift and can’t wait to put it to work. I have some pruning to do and this should make it seem like butter. Also may decide to start getting a few pallets to take apart for my woodworking.

Great little recip saw! Charges quickly and has plenty of power for cutting metal, trimming trees and agaves.lightweight and fun to use, makes work a pleasure I an old lady with a bad back, just what the doctor ordered!

Most say for the price this is one exceptional saw. I’ve used it a few times now seems to work great with no problems that I can see. Good ergonomic saw and fits well, cuts well and does a great job.

Great tool ! Fits your hand and is well balanced. I like the handle which makes it easy to use. I compared features and designs with other saws and found Skil offered the best design and price.

I use this for trimming a lot of bushes and smaller trees in my yard. A corded tool would get hung up in all the branches. This is the perfect model for what I need. Plenty of power.

Works great love the tool and every thing that comes with it I bought it for my job as a contractor on the side and love the duribality of the saw lightweight and just perfect for me

So far, so good. Would have been nice if they included a starter set of blades as a bonus. Figure they believe in their product because of 5 year warranty. John

One of the best gifts I’ve ever had, beats a gas or electric chainsaw hands down to cut limbs and invasive honeysuckle when equipped with a wood saw blade!!!
