So far so good with this Scroll saw. Yes, pinless blades like to slip out. just go buy 2 M4 hex head screws and problem solved. Just use a hex wrench to tighten and no more blade slippage. $2.00 fix. Yea a knob to tighten would be easier, but stick the hex wrench to the mother with a magnet and it isn’t a big deal. Other than that the saw has worked great so far. I have cut around 30 projects so far. Here are a few!

I purchased this in mind of using it for fretwork, which is why I needed a pinless blade saw. After hours of trying to keep the blade in and talking to WEN customer service, I gave up. There is no way for a normal person to tighten these blades and tighten the blade tension and still keep the blades in. Customer service kept wanting to send me a video but that is for model 3920 which comes with plastic holders to hold the pinless blades and this model does not. So if you want it for pinless blades, skip it and maybe try the other model but don’t get this one (unless you are hulk and can tighten and loosen your tightened thumbscrews).

blades are easy to change and I love what I got for the price!

I’ve only had the scroll saw for a month now and i have used it on 6 different projects. It has cut wood thicknesses of 1/4” through 2” with easy.

Great for beginners. This is my first scroll saw I’ve ever owned. I just started learning how to wood work with my grandpa and he had me using all his different saws but I tell u the scroll saw was my favorite. So after we had spent about 4 days of learning and building a small stage coach I decided to purchase one of my own. I did a lot of searching and ended up buying the WEN. So far it has done its job. I was worried by reading other reviews about the blade being hard to change but that’s what all the other reviews were saying on most of the scroll saws so I decided this was the one and to be honest it’s really not that hard, the only problem I have is the table being In The way and it’s hard to see but I also don’t have very good lighting in my shop as most people probably do. Also I have yet tried using a pinless blade on my saw but I will be trying that this weekend. Overall the saw is great, it cuts good and easy to use. You can find so many good prices on blades and on the plus side this is pinned or pinless blade. I’m happy with my new scroll saw and would recommend this for beginners or anyone that is looking to get a scroll saw for a really good price

I love this tool. I have been making Adirondack chairs for my backyard and it has been going along well except for when I would do the curves in the arms, they would not come out tilted sometimes. That is why I purchased this tool… I can now do all make curves perfectly… Love it! I was worried about cutting thru 1.5″ cedar, but it was smooth and did the job. I wish I had purchased this soon. I tend to move around and work in all different places.. I love that I can pick this up, place it in the driveway, bring it up on the patio or wherever. The only issue I had was that one of the blades that it came with was defective and didn’t have any pins in it, essentially making it unusable.

I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. The set up was simple and I was up and running in minutes. I like the size because it doesn’t require a great deal of space and can be left out and easily accessible when you need it. I researched scroll saws prior to my purchase and the Wen consistently received good ratings. It is easy to operate and the cuts have been straight and accurate. My husband (who is a contractor) was quite impressed and that says a lot. I purchased it for doing crafts but it is capable of doing so much more. This purchase will not disappoint.

The blade tension is a very bad design. The lever for the blade tension came loose after about 3 hours of use. Come to find out it the pin that holds the lever to the shaft for the blade tension was wallowed out from going up and down during the operation of the scroll saw and the pin that goes through the lever and the rod fell out. I tried to put the pin back in thinking maybe it just was not pressed in the hole in the shaft but the hole is too big. Even if you bought a big pin it would just wear the hole in the tension shaft even bigger. Like I said it is a very bad design.

The saw works well. Best on wood 3/8 inch or thinner. It does work ok on 3/4 inch but I don’t get as smooth cuts.

I have some specialty blades on order that should correct this.

It is much better than the old craftsman saw that I was using.

The best part is the 16 inch working area.

2nd one, this one a gift. Loved mine so much bought the same one for a gift. Runs great, easy to use, blade easy to change, love the variable speed.

Just purchased this saw after years of production on our old central machine scroll saw. This new one is really smooth and all of the components work well. While we’ve used this one for only a month so far, it runs really smooth and it’s a valuable piece of equipment for our business.

  12. Jclj

Broken after just a couple of weeks of light use.
Using pinned blades is a must on this thing. If you try and use pinless, you will break the knobs and strip the hex bolt, as you have to tighten them so much to get the blade to stay in place.

  13. Jecul

Product works extremely well. Very satisfied with my purchase. Only downfall is trying to find the 18TPI pinlessblades. Extremely hard to find in stores

nice compact machine, well built although nothing in the instructions on how to utilize the dust blower

Bought it as a gift. Easy to set up. Good for someone who is doing small projects at home.

  36. laurie

It was easy to use and worked as it should. Used it to cut out detailed animal cut outs…

  37. Sarge

Scroll saw works well. I really like the variable speed feature. Guide shoe tends to turn easily while sawing but is livable. Shipping took quite a bit longer than the site gave for an estimated delivery.

  38. Mark Hu

The blade tensioner’s as in the finger tightening area has already stripped out therefore we have to use the supplied Allen wrench to tighten the blade.

  39. Jack

Have not had the saw very long, but so far, it’s been just what I was looking for. Seems sturdy.

  40. Frank

This saw is complete junk. This is my 2nd saw in 3 months. I give up with this company, the tool is junk and the support is useless. I just ordered the Dewalt that I should have done from the start.

  41. John M

The scroll saw works as expected. I really like the speed control. There is a nice tube with nozzle for blowing sawdust away from the blade. Unfortunately, it is not adjustable and blows the sawdust in your face if you work from the end where the controls are.

  42. Dave

Purchased for a home furniture repair project. Just finished using it and found it easy to use. Quality of the product seems to be very good. I had no problems using it. For the price I would put it up against more expensive scroll saws.

  43. Falcon70

Pros: Runs well with pinned blades.

Cons: Pinned blades pop out no matter what I do. Extremely frustrating!
Emailed Wen about this, and never heard back…nice customer service.

  44. patrick

for the price, I find it hard to beat Wen. plenty powerful. my only issue is he blade storage on the saw will not stay closed, meaning it’s pretty useless

  45. Kimmer

Cons: I was disappointed that the blade broke after two cuts. These were small pieces of wood (1/4 thick).
Pros: The blade was easy to replace.

  46. Ramsey

I liked the price and I have other wen tools that I’m satisfied with
