Sure, it’s easy to see when your hedges are getting a little shaggy, but how about your trees? The Worx 20V 2-in-1 Attachment-Capable Hedge Trimmer will clean up every bush, shrub, tree, and hedge on your property. Dual-action blades cut everything twice, once forward, and once back, working at 1340 revs/min. And all that action gives you neat, clean cuts. The extendable pole attachment is the greatest feature, though. You can leave the ladder in the garage and still add about 12 feet to your reach. It’s the much safer way to trim your trees. And once it’s up there, the pole handle has an on/off switch right on the grip, so you can turn it on and shut it off without having to bring it back down. This tool is cordless, so you don’t have to worry about getting snagged on every branch and obstacle in your yard. The included 2.0 Ah battery and charger will keep your trimmer powered up and ready to go. This model also comes with a blade sheath, which makes it safer to store and significantly extends the life of your tool. And if you decide later on that your trees need some branches to come down, too, you can always get the Worx Chainsaw Head Attachment that is designed for this pole.

I was very pleased with the way it trimmed, but it was a bit heavy to handle when I was trimming above my head. I have some sort of spruce that has gotten out of hand, height wise, and has to be at least 12 feet high. The trimmer got a little heavy toward the top, but I shall try and rig some kind of shoulder harness for the next time. It made short work of a bed of ferns about 10 feet across and 4 feet deep.

I bought this tool hoping it’d be like the pruning saw with extension pole but was disappointed when received that it wouldn’t work independent from the extension pole. Worx missed out on an opportunity to have an extremely versatile hedge trimmer that could have extension capability vs only working with an extension. Having it be extension only makes regular height hedge trimming difficult. It definitely has it use with the tall/ hard to reach hedges but those are fewer and farther between. So instead of only having to store one tool that has both low hedge and tall hedge trimming, I have to store two separate ones.

I was looking for a hedge trimmer that could reach up to the top of our evergreen bush. I researched them online for a while and came to the conclusion that I have a lot of WORX tools, and I said I could trust them since they have a great line of tools. I used the new hedge trimmer, and I was very satisfied with it. Having to get a 10′ step ladder out every time I had to trim the evergreen bush, I didn’t want to do that anymore, so I purchased the 20V power share cordless trimmer with the extension I’m not breaking my back setting up a ladder every time I had to trim the evergreen. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I have been eyeing this pole trimmer since last year. Went ahead and ordered, but now I realize it is very heavy. Is there a strap we can buy to help make it easier to manage?

  5. KarlJ

I bought this about 2 months ago and I have to say, it definitely made my life easier. I use it to trim high branches I normally could not reach and light brush low to the ground. The 10 adjustable positions allow me to make it like a hockey stick for low shrub work too! I would have given it 5 stars if it had a clamp on handle similar to the ergonomically comfortable handle that is provided with the string trimmers (which I also own) for doing low to the ground work. The weight is tiring without this handle. It doesn’t have to be permanent, a clamp on would be fine. Fix that and 5 stars! My neighbor loves it too! I just wish he would buy his own instead of borrowing mine.

easy assembly. reliable. about as strong as you would expect a 20 volt battery to operate. It cuts comfortable a soft limb of about a half inch. It wants you to operate from the end where the controls are but I think most people would operate it from the side since it is a definite two-handed operation. It is a good value and does just what I really wanted which is to trim the higher new growth on shrubbery where I can’t easily reach to do the quick trims. Glad I bought it.

As soon as I unpacked the trimmer I put it to good use. It took a little adjusting to get the balance of the longer type of trimmer. It Has a powerful motor, surprising being battery operated. Once I adapted myself to its need for its proper trimming. Everything went along smoothly. Even when I extended the cutter to its full length and adjusted the angle of the head. The cut was as easy as standing on the ground…which I was. At 77ys I’m told to stay off ladders, grin. I would have given this set up a 5 star rating if I could use the cutter without the extension so I could do lower cuts without the weight or long arm to contend with. Where I live I don’t have storage room for multiple trimmers.

I am a huge supporter of the Worx brand. Throughout the years of being a homeowner, I have made several purchases of Worx tools and equipment.

That being said, it pains me to have to leave this 2-star review. The pole hedge trimmer is a huge dud. It’s simply too weak to be taken as a serious lawn tool. 20 volts is just not enough. It takes too much work to get much accomplished. Aside from its weight being an issue, the blades cut entirely too slow.

Perhaps Worx can go back to the drawing board and make one that is at least 40 volts. I assure you that would be a vast improvement.

  9. J McRican

Came with the 1 hr charger and battery. 20 volt max batteries i have for other worx tools can also be shared with this hedge trimmer. The extension pole also accommodates the worx pole saw tool attachment which i plan to buy in the future.

  10. Shamus44

This is my 4th Worx purchase since last Summer. I used it today on nine hemlocks at least 12 feet high. For the lack of a better word, freaking awesome. Absolutely love it. First started buying them because of limited use of my right hand due to some dog bites and surgeries. I first started trying them because of the advertised ease of use and low weight! Just as advertised, love it. Did the whole job in a couple of hours and on one battery charge! Highly recommended!! Thanks Worx, you made it easy for an old man,61, to do yard work even with limited use fo 1 hand.

I own more than 20 WORX products, most of which are gardening tools and none have ever disappointed me. They are reliable, well made and for me as a 70 year old woman, easy to handle. The tools are also easy to use right out of the box– no extensive reading materials are included. Straightforward assembly instructions and explanations are included as well as any necessary attachments. I am more than happy with the WORX items I have purchased and am always on the lookout for other items that will make my gardening projects even more enjoyable. As happy as I am with the tools and other products the Customer Service personnel is right up there with being so kind and so knowledgeable. They are such a credit to the company!

Read reviews and unfortunately dismissed those saying was too heavy..it is even top heavy for my husband. In addition it is near impossible for me (5’4″ lady) to handle..barely reaching back with right arm to keep it running while balancing unit with left hand outstretched. Also their does not seem to be the power we ate accustomed to with our weed sacked from Worx. Didn’t do best of job even on new growth of our grape myrtle hedge. Overall disappointed and sorry we purchased hedger. Won’t be purchasing the saw attachment as planned.

  13. LPC3

First off, this thing is huge! Fully collapsed it is still more than 6 feet long. When I first tried to use it I hated it. The handle and power switch is all the way at the base of the unit in a very difficult position to reach and you’re trying to use the tool with two hands. It seems like it would be pretty simple to make the power switch more accessible. As I have use the tool and figured out how to make it work, it cuts great and does the job very well. So once I got past my initial impression I have been very happy with it

  14. hambregor

Does exactly what I wanted to do with it. Light, agile and the entire arrangement is rigid and easily controlled. Battery lasts for a long time, and plenty of power – it will deal with fairly heavy twigs – 5/8″ or so. Depends on the wood. Wanted to make suggestions, and, in reviewing other users comments, they are mostly covered except:

How about a boot or rubber cover to protect the battery from contact with the ground during use and when you leave the tool standing upright?
    Suggestions appearing in other reviews:
Shoulder strap to stabilize the tool to improve control.
Accessory short handle for close up work when the pole would be clumsy.
Make a chainsaw compatible with this pole saw
Yes, that annoying little cap on the butt of the trimmer got me too.

This thing is too darn heavy to use. I have the regular cordless Worx hedge trimmer and love it, so I thought I’d buy this to avoid ladders and to be able to reach the top that I can’t reach even with a ladder. I just tried this for the first time, and it’s just TOO heavy. It should include a strap that goes around the body like the Worx video from the UK. I just wasted my money on this thing, and I am not happy. When people tell you it’s heavy, unlike my stubborn self…believe them. I’m a 71-year-old woman who pretty much does all my own lifting/carrying/etc…but this is just too hard. I gave up after about 10 minutes of trying and will have to hire someone. Obviously someone at Worx knows this needs support to be useful since the UK video shows a strap, so what’s the deal, Lucille?

  16. imdabooyah

for about 5 years i havent been able to reach the top of my bushes in the front yard…i even tried dangerously on a ladder. finally with this worx pole trimmer i was safely able to trim the bushes from being on flat ground. it worked easily and nicely. the longer you extend the pole, the less control you have and the heavier this whole setup feels….thats just physics though. overall i seem to like my worx products and like the sales they run. i have several of their products now too.

  17. DaddyE

I bought this because I have several bushes / plants that are very tall and grow very fast at certain times of the year. Right out of the box I put it together and trimmed one of my climbing bushes and what usually takes me at least 15 minutes just to get set up with a ladder and power cords etc. took me 2 minutes to trim. This will be a great time saver. Now I don’t have get up on a ladder to use it and drag around those annoying power cords. I Iove the flexible angles that the head has.

  18. Candlemaker1979

The enrire tool if not put together well. The pole does not lock once extended.

  19. Den66

I have used this hedge trimmer only once so far. I really like the way it cuts and also All the adjustments on the unit. Battery held up great. The only problem I have with it is the weight. It is a little tough to hold up over head very long. I thought it was gonna be lighter even though I knew what the weight was. Besides that I am happy with it. Everything works as it should and I will use it from time to time. Happy to add it to my collection of Worx tools.

  20. Amy0820

Do not buy this tool if you just need to do standard jobs like bushes and small trees. My husband made this mistake and now we’re stuck with this tool. We love all of our other worx tools but this one is a no. And, man is it heavy. My arms were on fire trying to manage it while attempting to hold it and trim the sides of the bush. We bought it so I wouldn’t be leaning over the bushes so much to trim them but this is way worse. A big thumbs down.

  21. rhon

I have already used this trimmer 3 times and it has done a great job every time. It is great to use reaching up to higher to trim a tree or bushes that are on a wall above my yard and to reach over my fence to trim bushes outside my yard. i only needed to change the angle on the trimmer to reach low vines at the bottom of the fence without leaving my yard. The only drawback is that it is pretty heavy to hold parallel to the ground to trim.

  22. jfriend624

I bought this right before the early summer trimming and I am so glad that I did! The trimmers are perfect on all jobs that require more than the standard set, whether it be height, depth, or angle of shrubs. I used the trimmers for nearly two hours on one charge. These are wonderful! The only thing negative that I can mention is they are light but the weight is at the end so over time they feel heavier, but that is to be expected.

  23. Cghog

Just unloaded my trimmer and read the owners manual
as the battery charged. Assembled the unit, tested all the features
and inserted the battery. Took it outside, removed the blade protector
and hit the switch. The motor made noise as if it was running but the blades
never moved. Reread the manual and retried. NOTHING. Got on the website
and received no troubleshooting info. Therefore, sadly disappointed!

  24. CR Coffey

So glad I purchased this trimmer. I have bushes around my back yard that are about 9 feet tall and that gives me, what amounts to, a free privacy fence. But boy are they a pain to trim. That is ,until I got my new hedge trimmer. With my other trimmer I would end up dragging a ladder around my yard just to trim the tops of the hedges. The first time I used my power share trimmer I was able to reach the top of the hedges by just a simple extension of the pole. WOW!! That was great. No more dragging a ladder around my yard just to trim the tops of my hedges. I feel much safer with both feet planted firmly on the ground instead of perched on a ladder and the hedges look great. Thanks for a great product. This is the 3rd Worx tool in my garage, next to my hydro shot power washer and gt leaf blower, and it definitely will not be my last. I’m very happy with all of them. Thanks for a great product line.

  25. Sawtooth 52

I just received this hedge trimmer with extension pole. Instructions minimal, only pictures. Nowhere does it show that you have to remove an end cap from the tool. Consequently I could not get head to click into pole. Eventually figured it out. Agree with other reviewers the trimmer should be usable when detached from pole. Also wondering what chainsaw is compatible either this pole?

  26. DIY Lady

I bought my Hedge Trimmer with pole extender 2 weeks ago. So easy to assemble, extension levers (2) super easy, its not to heavy so being a 50 yr old woman this is just perfect. I can adjust the trimmer to whatever angle I need to top, side, round, shape, any angle! Handle hedge really well and quickly. I recommend this for anyone. Battery life long, ease of use, no gas/oil!

How do I remove the extension pole so I can just use the smaller part of the trimmer. Otherwise it does not work for me at all. I thought I could use it with or without the extension pole. I need to trim smaller bushes currently.
