We doubled the batteries for a longer runtime. With the Worx 40V Cordless 13” String Trimmer, you can get more done before you have to make a pit stop in the shed for more batteries or a recharge. And even with those two big batteries powering this trimmer, it’s still ultra-lightweight and easy to use. Only 6.4 lbs. with both batteries installed (4.7 lbs. bare). So almost anyone can help out with the yardwork and easily operate this grass trimmer without getting fatigued. Maybe best of all is that you don’t have to worry about tripping over a cord, or dealing with messy and pricey gasoline. The cutting diameter of this 40V string trimmer is 13 in., which is wide enough to make nice even passes, but still narrow enough to get in-between trees and shrubs. The size is just right. The line diameter is 0.065 in. and the cutting line length is 16 ft. The adjustable auxiliary handle lets you take on sloped parts of the lawn and get at hard-to-reach areas, as well as providing a comfortable work position when on even land. And you can grab that handle by its side and turn this string trimmer into an edger, too. You’ll have the sharpest lawn on the block, because this trimmer is so easy to operate and lightweight, you’ll trim more often. And that extra maneuverability you gain will lead to cleaner-cut edges on the house, deck, and landscaping features.

When I received the item a few weeks ago, I was very surprised because it was much lighter than I thought, but after installing the battery,
I felt that the center of gravity was very good for use. It is much lighter and more comfortable to use.
I think it was a good choice. It is recommended that people with preconceived notions about batteries try it.
    Thank you.

I really like this weed cutter overall .It was relatively easy to assemble, the handle can be adjusted for your comfort, has two rechargeable batteries with charger. It does a great job doing what it is supposed to do. Left a great trim look around the yard. Lightweight enough so your arms do not get tired quickly. My wife took a turn and the machine was a bit too long for her to use comfortably. I also like the “two button” safety on switch. You have to press the little orange button and then depress the switch. Otherwise it won’t work With that being said if the main stem was adjustable that would be great. Overall tho I like the way it feels and love the way it cuts thru the toughest weeds!

I bought this trimmer less than 1 year ago and loved it. I had even recommended this to others! However, a couple weeks ago, the power started cutting out on a full battery. I discovered that the handle had cracked across right below the round start button for some reason! Perhaps the dual batteries are too heavy on the top end of it? I love this trimmer and hope for a response as to why this has happened. Hopefully. Worx will stand behind their product and compensate me for a brand new one as it is still under warranty. I anxiously await your response. Thank you.

The string trimmer is cordless, operates on 2 batteries. You must charge both batteries before using, it runs great. I use it for trimming around my sidewalks, cuts exactly the way I want. The trimmer is great to have on hand, always use after mowing my yard. Very lightweight and easy to hold.

I’ve had this trimmer for about a year and it really delivers on battery life. I have a large property and have to use a gas trimmer for the bulk of my trimming, but around the gardens and walkways, the Worx trimmer is easier to use and less messy. It’s hard for me to keep the buttons depressed because the positioning is a little inconvenient. It wastes as lot of line as well. I have to carry a pair of pliers with me when I trim to unjam the line. I’d say that about 25% of the time that I spend is unjamming the trimmer line, but most trimmers with line spools do that. Still, It does a good job and I don’t need ear protection!

This string trimmer is very lightweight and balanced. I wish I would’ve bought this worx string trimmer a couple years ago. Instead I bought a slightly cheaper trimmer that has given me trouble since I bought it. This worx 40 volt trimmer has been trouble free the batteries last the hour it takes me to trim around the house and many trees in my large yard. I especially like the way it automatically feeds new line out as needed.

I just noticed that the plastic handle area that connects to the batteries, very critical area has a crack and it is about to break completely. I think the batteries are so heavy that it puts lots of pressure in that area and that’s where all the controls are? And Innovative Command Feed only worked once or twice when it was brand new. I am under warranty and need to know what to do to get a repair or replacement.

Our trimmer has had one summer’s worth of use as this review is being written. If I’m having my 15-year-old granddaughter mow the lawn, she uses this trimmer for areas where I’d worry about her using the lawn mower (working around rocks etc.). I’ve used it to clear weeds in large areas, and the battery holds up for a useful amount of time. I don’t think I’d say that the battery is good for a full acre, but it’s adequate for our quarter-acre lot.

I think highly enough of this trimmer that I bought another one for use at a second home.

This trimmer is light weight, even with batteries in place – It feeds the 2 strings audimatically and it does a good job in grass that is not real heavy & thick. It will cut thicker grass but it takes a little longer. Not recomended for thick weeds, etc.

I have purchased both the wg180 and wg183…..love both of them. easy to use and lightweight so I am able to hold correctly. Concern is after replacing the 180 spool cap recently….I purchased the 183, used 3 times and the spool cap on 183 flew off. it came apart and I have had to order a new spool cap for it. Why is the spool cap and 4 refill spools available but the spool cap for 183 is out of stock……I purchased the spools iin my previous order. Thanks for your answer. Sue

I bought this about a month ago it was working a bit better than my previous one and I find it easier to use since it’s lighter than my previous however I went to use it for the 3 maybe 4th time and it’s no longer working at all. Batteries fully charged getting full lights go to start it and it’s just not doing anything I looked it all over I don’t see anything wrong with it it’s just died after about a month if it wasn’t for that I’d give a higher rating.

  12. RichardE

This trimmer surpassed my expectations by out performing all the other string trimmers I’ve used except my 17″ 25cc Homelite. It preformed just as well as my gas power trimmer, but it’s much lighter and easier to use. I trimmed my whole, half acre back yard, (which is fenced in with17 fruit trees, grapevines, blackberry and blueberry bushes as well as 3 buildings and 6 flower beds to trim around) on a single charge and in record time.

  13. Midgetllo

I bought this after my gas weedeater finally died. I fought the bump feed for about 2 years before that, so I was looking for something without that feature. The auto feed is awesome! I went through 4 batteries without touching the string. The only problem I have is that I have a decent sized yard with lots of trees and a 410 ft privacy fence. This caused me to have to charge in the middle of weedeating which is very annoying.

  14. Kenco

I thought I’d give this a try not expecting much having owned battery powered trimmers in past. Boy was I surprised. This thing, although not quite as powerful as a gas trimmer really is impressive. It did everything I wanted it to do, and fast. The run time was about 45 minutes, more than enough time to edge and trim my 3/4 acre property. Recharge was
about an hour. Hope this lasts as I’m very happy with this purchase.

I have had this trimmer now for almost 4 months and was waiting to see how it held up and performed during the spring and summer growing months on my St. Augustine lawn. I must say it gets the job done nicely.

I have always had a gas power edger for edging and prefer the look they deliver. If you expect this unit to deliver the some results you will be disappointed. But as I learned, one you have used the unit and ‘trained’ your lawn and yourself you will be happy with the results. Lightweight, simple to change line, long life battery, and easily configured for all trimming and edging jobs makes it a plus. It does go through line rather quickly and I was used to heavier line that holds up better when edging. But ease of installing and threading the new spools makes up for the size issue somewhat. Overall, it is a good tool and worth the money

  16. sweatybetty

This is a great light weight trimmer. Definitely is great for quick trimming jobs around the yard. It is so much faster than the gas trimmer. The batteries charge super quick. Not having to store gas or running out of gas while trimming the yard it a huge benefit. I did not think I would like a battery operated trimmer but this one proved me wrong. Happy trimming!

  17. Dillpickle

I have always used gas powered trimmers until now, always thought that battery power would be weak but I got surprised when I used this40 v cordless trimmer. It really does the job without all the hassle of trying to start all the others. Very light weight, easy to handle with adjustable hand grip you can move to suit you. I really like this Worx, it’s great

  18. BrianP

Bought this for my nephew how is a new home owner, and its perfect for his small yard. Very light weight so that it’s easy to handle even his gifriend uses it.. the only draw back that I have is I’m used to a bumper head for the string to release. But my nephew isn’t and love the button trigger that releases the string.. so it’s a win win for the kids..

  19. Dobber45

We bought this a month ago and have pleased with the power. We have had gas powered trimmer in the past, but they are a pain to keep tuned and running. So we tried battery powered trimmers and they haven’t had enough power to trim our tough grass and weeds. Our new 40V trimmer has the power we need and has no tuning or running problems, very pleased.

  20. JJ25

I purchased this thinking it would be similar to all my other Edger/trimmers I have purchased in the past. This one was too long and no way to adjust it to my height. No way to edge sidewalks and no roller wheels. It weighed so much and I’m 75 years old and this product was a very big disappointment. I returned this and ordered a much smaller one.

I had a 20 volt WORX trimmer and loved it. I upgraded to a 40 volt (which used 2 of my same 20 volt batteries). Amazed at how much difference in power. Very light-weight to handle (I am 80 years old) and it plays havoc with the weeds!! We have several steep hillsides that we have to weed eat every couple weeks. String is very strong.

  42. jabs22

I bought this last summer. If you have Saint Augustine grass and edge sidewalks and driveways its not as helpful as I hoped. It edges the same as my regular worx weed trimmer. I will have to buy a gas power trimmer to edge. I’m a fan of worx products so just being honest with this review. It may be great for other grasses

  43. Jo H

I purchased the wrong one. I thought I was getting the one with the wheel. My sister loves the wheel. I wanted something easy on my shoulders. The string was not on correctly so I had to take that apart. I’m not happy with this. I’m sure it would be great for someone stronger. This is my error not the companies.

  44. Bob23

I received my string trimmer with some reluctance because I owned a couple of other battery-powered units from a different maker and they just could not do the job. After a year new batteries did not hold a good charge. Power was lost rather quickly if the unit was challenged. So far this unit has plenty of power.

  45. Ochris

Love this weed eater. It’s extremely lite weight. Doesn’t wear be out like the heavier gas operated ones. The only downside I’ve found is the charge does not last long enough for me to do my whole yard in one charging. But i do have a large yard, so if you’re trimming a smaller yard, this one is perfect.

  46. Schotzi

This was sent to replace a 56v trimmer you no longer carry, which battery time was much better. 40v. Seems like Im just gettinng started and it’s done. So I use the 24v to get some more done. I expected battery time from the 40v. As far as recommendations if you have a small yard would be great.

  47. JosieChuck

Just bought this trimmer because I can not use the one that my husband uses. His is heavy and hard for me to use. The Worx trimmer is so light that I was able to trim around the house and dog pen with no issues! I really feel that I can help my husband now with the yard work!!

  48. RichT66

This is my first battery powered string trimmer and it has been great! I’m very pleased with the power and the ability to cut longer grass and thick weeds. The batteries also last an acceptable amount of time for what I am doing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

  49. RK 55

I’m looking at purchasing a WORX WG 183 cordless grass trimmer. It shows an automatic feed in the diagram but in description it says it feeds 1/4 inch when started. Do you have to turn it off and on to feed the line or do you push the feed button to extend the line?

  50. Cindi sue

I ordered Worx again after another good name brand battery operated weed eater gave me lots of trouble with the string. Only complaint is 2 20 volt batteries do not last as long as my previous 1 40 volt battery did do I have to charge batteries to finish my work
